4. I came to GTP originally to try and embarras Jack, I stayed because I really enjoy reading what you guys have to say especially in the opinion forum and especially Danoffs posts.

Being a teenager is all about living with 'guilt' - it's called being an adolescent. ;)

3. (Hope Jack isn't reading) I smoked dope pretty much all the way through my pregnancy with him and even smoked a joint in the car on the way to hospital to have him. When pregnant with his sister I smoke one joint with my friend who was also pregnant and we were so paranoid about what may happen we never told a soul not even our husbands.

:grumpy:

Great!

I wouldn't say I'm afraid of blood, but I have passed out multiple times due to seeing blood/trauma. It's not really a very predictable thing with me. The time when I was around the most blood I was also in shock from the accident, so I didn't seem to mind it. Other times even a relatively small amount of blood has put me out. I think it has more to do with seeing bodily damage than anything else. Anyway I feel for you. Luckily, though, blood isn't something you'll have to deal with lots of regularly (you're not planning on practicing medicine are you?).

The whole idea of medicine is a complete turn-off for me, as even walking through the doors of the hospital is enough for me to get a little queezy. But yes, even small amounts of blood is enough to get me knocked-out. I had an ingrown hair on my arm/shoulder a while back, and after picking it and trying to make it better, it began to bleed pretty bad. After noticing, I had to sit down for a few minutes while Mom put a Band-Aid on it.

...In yet another good story, I was at work two weeks ago (I believe it was just a day or two before X-Mas eve) and a friend of mine cut his hand pretty bad on a loose nail on a table. He was bleeding pretty bad, but hadn't noticed it... I did, quickly turned around, and shouted at him that he better go in the back and fix it up. Now I've got a bit of a reputation as a pansy, and to be honest I don't care, but it is better having him get it taken care of than me passed-out in boxes of T-Shirts on the floor.

And on the generalized subject of so many of us enjoying the "internet performing arts," I don't think it is too big of a deal. We're young, we have needs (obviously not being satisfied by girls), and thus we make do. Be happy that we have the internet to help, just imagine what your father or grandfather would have had to go through all those years ago...

One thing for sure, our fathers and grandfathers had to have better imagination. :)

Only thing I hope for "teh intarweb" is that it will stay neutral, like it always was. Those corporate anti-net teutrality schemes smell of communism way to much for my taste. And I hate anything that even remotely smells of communism.

[off-topic]You mean like making everything public, so people/corporations can't own anything?[/off-topic]

I hated alcohol until I was 17.
I still hate alcohol – it just doesn’t do anything for me. Then again I also don’t drink coffee nor tea.

[…]It's too painful to walk since my muscles are being invaded my excess lymph fluid, and I need a wheelchair, crutches or a cane to move around.

4. If cancer wasn't bad enough, I was hit and run over by a drunk driver who was running from the police […]
Wow, really sorry to hear about that. :(

You mean there's still hope for me?
No, that rule usually doesn’t apply to women. :p

2. I have been invloved in 4 bank hold ups, I had premonitions about all 4 of them. One of them I had a gun pointed at my head. Even have pictures from that one. And stupidly I still work in a bank.
That’s one of my biggest fears in life – being anywhere near a burglary. I went through a really bad streak several years ago where almost every night I thought somebody was trying to break into the house. :nervous: And I used to constantly have this image flashing in my mind of a robber holding a gun to my head in my room.

Oh yeah, I’m also terrified of snakes and spiders. Anything with poison scares the hell out of me. :scared:
I love snakes and spiders. :) The only thing that scares me are centipedes, because they’re terribly quick, difficult to kill (you usually have to cut them in half, occasionally in quarters), and sometimes the ones around my house are gigantic (nasty blue ones that are 6"/15cm long).

Spiders are cool though. I like to pick up the jumping spiders that hang out around here – they’re very curious creatures and don’t really mind human contact.

That reminds me: I’ll never forget this post by boomie.

I think your dictionary is broken. I believe it has the definition of "capitalism" after the word "communism", and vice versa.

[off-topic]You mean like making everything public, so people/corporations can't own anything?[/off-topic]
No. I mean that noone has any right to block me from accesing public information from every source possible. If you allow me to hear just one side of the story, that is censorship. And we all know what censorship leads to.

Here's 5 more.

6) Between 1998 and 2001, I was heavily involved in the online Team Fortress Classic community. I co-founded a clan which eventually competed in all three major TFC ladders and we went as high as 'Gold' in the STA series before we dissolved for various reasons (playing 4 nights a week started to hurt my marriage, not to mention my career). My TFC handle was 'PsychoMonkey'. I still enjoy FP shooter games, but do not clan anymore.

7) I grill a mean steak and I'm always collecting new recipes. If you have one you'd like to share, PM it to me or post it in one of the old recipe threads.

8) My goal in life is to retire early, travel and write fiction. And maybe compete in an amatuer level racing series as a 'gentleman racer'.

9) Like some of you, I too dislike to fly. Strangely, as a boy I was fascinated with airplanes and have logged hundreds of hours on various flight sims. But I had a bad experience on a flight one day and it shook me up for some reason. After 9/11 it was even worse, to the point where I refused to get on plane at all. I fly now, but I still dislike it.

10) Again, like many of you, I also do not have a girlfriend. My wife killed her with an E60 when she found out about us.

What about if they own the equipment you're using to access this information?

Do they then have no say in how THEIR privately-owned equipment is used? That smells more like communism to me.

1) I'm not superstitious apart from magpies. If I see one, something crap happens (usually minor) or if I see quite a few lone, unconnected magpies at several points on my journey, something really crap happens. The day of my fourth driving test I saw seven all lined up along the roof opposite my house before I set off and I subsequently passed. So whenever I see a lone magpie, i'll salute and say 'Hello Mr. Magpie'.

2) I've just bought a new car, I picked it up yesterday. I've named her 'Ellie'.

3) My dream job is to be a Paramedic. I hope to be at least starting my training by 2010.

4) I prefer things to be symmetrical where possible. I am exceedingly neat and tidy and I know where 99.9% of my belongings are.

5) I don't own a PS and am rubbish at car related gaming. So I tend not to bother.

But arent' you,me and everyone already paying for access to the internet?I'd rather pay higher access fees, than having content blocked out of my reach, even if the content is total crap,or damaging for my own computer.

I'll give you an example of what I mean, why i dislike it,and why I find it a bit communist:

Imagine this:
You like GTPlanet right? I do,I'ts one of rare forums I found where I can enjoy a mature conversation, without having threads that turn into a insult fest 3 post later.

Now,let's say these anti-net neutrality schemes kick in.

And let's say,Sony,or someone with loads of cash, creates some official Gran Turismo boards. That entity pays to all ISP's exclusive rights for anything concerning GT on the internet,e.g. being first on the search queries, and even blocking out GTP,for example. And one day you want to login to GTP,but it flips you back to those board I mentioned earlier. Ok,you think, this ISP won't let me access GTP,I'll switch to another. On another ISP-same thing. And let's assume you dislike those forementioned boards. And let's not forget what Jordan would have to do: deciding what ISP he should pay an amount that ISP wants, which could result in higher subscription fees for Premium users, and god forbid that you as an user have subscribed to a wrong ISP,to whom Jordan doesn't pay for throtlling services. Now,you could argue that GT is Sony's intelectual property, but don't you think that trying to shut down,or just blatantly blocking out fan sites like this one wouldn't hurt the fan base?

Sure, this might be an "worst case scenario" and maybe I'm just "Jumping the gun",but let me ask everyone who likes GTP-If this example was true, wouldn't that suck? I as an user of GTP,think it would. And AFAIK,In China they are doing a somewhat similar thing.

I apologise for this huge off-topic.

Agreed. This is off-topic. There is a thread about net neutrality. In the meantime, keep in mind that communism is where the government controls the corporations.

You come on a Car based forum announce you have a new car and only tell us it's nickname!!!
She's a girl! She'll not know. It'll be a "blue" one, or somesuch.

Runs away and hides....

:grumpy:

Great!
I know, I'm such a baaaaaad irresponsible parent.

And now - since Jack hasn't contributed to this thread - the five things you all don't know about Jack.......................................................

Just kidding

How about five things Jack doesn't know about Jack?

daan - stop picking on me!! (You can't hide from me. I'll hunt you down and cover you in jam. So there.)

The only reason I gave you very little information about it is because i've yet to take pictures. Once i've done that, i'll post it somewhere and show you all it properly. You may be able to guess by my avatar and my signature what it is i've bought :)
