Fix megane or this game will become pointles and boring very soon.

Hi. This subject was probably taljed about already thousand times. But I need to vent. Can someone explain to me how is it possible for renault megane to overtake on straight line cars like: Viper, bmw m4, nissan gtr? Why polyphony hasnt nerfed this bs yet? In every race there are at least 4 - 5 Renault Megane cars.
I don't care if someone overtakes me because he is driving better. I can appreciate skill.
But when gtr is being overtaken by this joke...honestly fun from this game just dissapears.
I raced today for maybe 5h. I think 80%of those races were won by renault.
Please people tell me I'm right and it's the car not my driving haha.

To be fair, the GTR was nerfed horrendously.. Not to mention that stock settings will always favor specific cars

Obviously not enough.
I don't think it is the matter of BoP. This car simply is Overpowered. It needs to be re-designed or something. Gr.4 at this moment is simply a joke.

Perhaps PD take into account fuel and tyre wear too as I remember posts in other threads that say Megane can't keep up then. ..

What track are you seeing this on and have you seen it on all the tracks as just like real life BoP is based on making the vehicles comparablish on average across all tracks.

Even in real life racing such as BTCC in the UK Fwd cars have advantage on some and Rwd on other tracks....let alone the complaints about BOP not being correct as well and adjusted for some cars through the season... .as PD are doing through the FIA Test season....
 
They need to add a 200-300 pounds to it already, cutting the power down wasn't really a good fix.

Since the bop update found this to be better, especially fuel races the Megane and the scirroco are too slow, find using the M4a good combatant to these pesky Renaults have been able to beat them and record numerous wins by not stopping for fuel
 
Dunno about everyone else but I did 4 races at Mt Panorama and there were only 4-5 Meganes each race. That's an improvement right? Earlier I remember most grids would have 8-9 Meganes and a healthy (unhealthy) dose of Scirrocos. In fact recently most Gr4 seem to have more M4's than Meganes? Anyway I'm sticking to my Genesis and WRX.
 
What track are we talking about here?

I find that FWD cars have some sort of natural advantage over RWD cars in tracks that involves tight turns in uphill sections.

The Megane and Scirocco are great on these tracks even after the nerf, whereas they tend to suck in high speed track with high speed corners.

All tracks at least before the update, the grids were full of Meganes and Scirrocos. Recently not so much. Nowadays I see a lot of M4's but not unhealthy amounts. Seems like a more even playing field. Of course some cars are suited to some tracks better but earlier it seemed like everyone and their uncle had to have a Megane-Scirroco. Most Gr4 races seemed like one makes. It was more of a case of "I'm driving a Megane/Scirroco" nevermind the skill level. :P

Yes, that was a problem and we won't deny that.

But now? They were nerfed already and aren't that overpowered anymore, PD did the nerf right.

But my point is that, even after the nerf, these FWD cars are still the best in some suitable tracks, which is very well acceptable IMO, you can nerf these cars but you can't make them useless.
 
They seem okay to me after the update. Haven't noticed a high usage in FF cars.

But at some point, these BoP adjustments become so difficult and granular to do, they might be impossible.

Right now the Gr4 M4 feels slightly better to me than other cars I've driven, and I chalk most of that up to how stable the car seems to be. It's just easier to drive fast. Now, for some reason it's got a 25hp (around there) advantage over the Ferrari and they weigh about the same. After using the M4 a bunch (successfully), I switched over to the Ferrari and ran against the M4s. To my surprise, I didn't notice the power difference as much as I thought I would. Only spot I think I noticed it was a steep incline. It still doesn't feel like it tells the whole picture though because the Ferrari felt like it was easier on tires and possibly better fuel mileage? Or, at least I could run the Ferrari at 1/2 and M4 was 2/3.

Problem is, fuel/tires aren't a factor for most races so that advantage is lost.

It's incredibly complex. And I don't necessarily want every car to feel the same. I'm okay with certain cars being faster on straights and others on corners (how it should be), but with the way the game is designed (to be fun first and foremost), people just pick whatever is best on that particular track (and whatever the latest BoP favors). FIA Manufacturers is the only area where it really locks people into a choice and we can't just drive whatever we want for the track all willy nilly. Also consider the amount of "fast" tracks compared to the more slow, technical ones in the current roster.

Then you factor in that they are probably balancing for a broad range of driver skill. What feels slow and difficult to handle for an amateur driver, might be the fastest car in the game for some of the most skilled drivers.
 
Thanks guys for all your responses. I do agree with all of you after giving this a little thought after I cooled down after yesterday daily in gr 4 (sorry I don't remember what track it was).
I still think that Megane should have no chamce against GTR or Viper no matter what (based on real life cars).
I get the point that thanks to BoP these cara can compete against eachother.
I still find it stupid when I get overtaken in gtr on long straight be ranault megane lol. Or when gtr cant use Megane's slip stream because megane just pulls so fast away.

Anyway thanks again for chat. Think I will have a breake from gt and play some f1 or wrc for a change ;)
 
I drove a Megane at Mt Panorama yesterday and won the race. Tried the next race with a RWD car (Lexus something) which was much more fun to drive but I was more than 2 seconds a lap slower :(

Same as you mate. I had the tt doing a 2.15.5 got in the megane and punched a 2.14 not super fast even..crazy difference
 
The Megane has lost quite a bit of popularity since the update. Races are no longer being dominated by these things any more. In fact, Group 4 grids are much more varied now and it is great. However, 4WD vehicles have picked up in popularity, especially the Audi TT Cup.

TT Cup is FF, not AWD.

Going by their reasoning, they can't fathom that a FWD car can be faster than a RWD, if given the proper circumstances.

Nope quite happy with Gr4 after the update. The Megane is still fast but not unbeatable. No one is asking for them to be nerfed to oblivion. I think the current state is fine now. I don't think anyone was saying nerf it to hell.
 
For me personally it's an issue of skill. FF cars are incredibly easy to drive with no assists including no traction control. Whatever speed is normally lost in corners is made up by TC0, and I'm left with a car that is fast on straights. Of course this can be overcome by turning off assists in other cars but so far that's been easier said than done.

I don't get the cornering issue, I can corner pretty fast in a FF but that involves a different braking point than a rear driven car. With the TT Cup on Alsece reverse the other day I flew past 3 MR/FR cars through the T1/T2 S section. Also on Bathurst, I managed through those tight turns on the hill, a couple times while driving a MR I spun out in that tight 2nd gear corkscrew section but not with the FF (or FR in most cases).

Still, under Gr4 circumstances, the FF's are still a bit too fast, you'd think cars like the V10 Viper, Vantage, F-type and SLS AMG pulls on straights but gets beaten by a Megane and Scirocco.

Since the last BOP update I've found in the daily races in the Gr.4 class I've been able to use the Lambo and beat the Meganne and M4s..... it's definitely now my go to Gr.4 car.

I've always liked the Gr4 Huracan, it's probably one of the best cars on Dragons Tail but is middle of the pack on Suzuka.

I agree that this is the main problem.
I love driving the M4 right now, mainly because it's one of the more stable RWD cars, but I also like driving the RC F and the 86.

I drove Suzuka last night, and after qualifying 2.09.1 I had a Megane about .3 seconds behind me on the grid, he almost overtook me on turn 1 but after that I drove consistent low 2.10's and slowly pulled away from him to win by about 5 seconds.

However the other day on Bathurst, I spent a long time geting my 2.12 qualifying time in my M4 and then hopped into a Megane and put up a 2.12 very very easily in comparison to the M4.

So I think my annoyance comes from the fact that the Megane is much easier to drive than the RWD cars, and on certain tracks it can be just as fast if not faster than the RWD cars. It's not much a problem when you start getting into the higher DR's as most of those drivers are TCS 0 anyways in the GR.4 category, but for the lower level drivers I would be frustrated if I was struggling to keep my RWD going at high speeds when a Megane behind me just has to allow for understeer when cornering and then watches his car fly past most others on the straights.
