Is there going to be flames in GT4. In a real car the ignition being delayed, the air/fuel mixture reaches the exhaust tubes mostly unburned. When the spark plug fires, the exhaust valve is starting to open due to the ignition delay mentioned above. Additionally, the exhaust temperature being extremely high, the unburned fuel explodes at the contact of the exhaust tubes.

So will there be flames do you think?! I think this picture is from GT4 does this mean flames are in?

Photoshop. Look at those mountains in the distance. They are real.

Or maybe it just look real. I mean how do you really know if thisa is photoshopped if it is then he/she did a good job.

look at grand canyon in gt4 for...it looks almost exactly like in real life.

yah, all the backgrounds look that real, cuz im pretty sure the background is just a big picture wrapped around the track

Never seen this picture before. Oh no...

(sorry rollazn, but these threads are really starting to grate)

Yeah, i know man. All these GT4 thread have gotten to me also, but i just wanted to know if anybody have heard any offical words about it. I know what you mean though. This is like the first thread i made about GT4. :D Dont kill me please.

It's a fake, if I ould remeber the site I would post it, but I've been to the site that created it. Also it's a really old pic, that was going around last year when the first few pics were released from Sony.

As for the backgrouds in any game being rendered, phootograph or not, every texture you see in a game is rendered so that answer at IGN doesn't answer the question, which is poorley put together in the first place. So that topic is still in the wait until the game is released vault because no one knows outside of Sony and PD.

faking stuff like that is easy, I'm RUBBISH and even I can fake em, see below for my effort, Mines not as good (obviously), but if I didn't **** up the lighting, and spent more then 3 minutes on it, I bet it could look quite good :)

Damn I really regret sticking so much yellow on the car now, makes it look so pants lol

This pic has been around for almost a year now. If it was real, we would have seen, or heard, more about it by now.

Though, I still think it's a possibility that GT4 will have this feature.

Yep, less yellow and that would've looked convincing.

Not bad code, but it needs more orange.

a little re edit :) abit better me thinks, not perect, but I can't bothered to redo it :)

*deleted my old one so as not too fill the thread with my crappy pictures :)*

actually I'll leave it on so you can have fun and compare them, "fun" ;)

nothing like getting creative, eh chaps

Heres one, it took me 1 min but I have'nt bothered with making any reflections.

Live, wanna join my paint shop pro club? Together we can edit every GT4 picture ever, and confuse blind people into thinking they are in game. I'm adding the warthog from Halo next. :D

Lol, it's would be cruel yet funny. Ok.

Code....you should be joining Cobras club of the first class Muppets.

Lol, whats Code done now? A bit off topic, bu you race in the olr here don't you? I used to race there but now my names not on the registered list, do I need to re-register or should I just tell GoKents, it's just it's been over day since I left a message for him about it.

Mr P, I thought you blocked me? Geee guess not, mores the shame. Oh well, once again it's up to me to tell you to pull your head out of you ass.

Mr P, when you grasp the concept of "wit", and how it works, you may return and attempt to insult me. Until such time, be gone foolish one.

Though why did he insult me in the first place? *shrug* a 'tard I guess.

Nice photoshops :) it was pretty obvious that GT-R pic wasn't real anyway since no others had been seen & 'pops' still missing in GT:P. The background also doesn't look right, looks different to the scenery 'style' done in Citta & Canyon also.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember any GT intros having exhaust pops either?

This kind of graphical stuffs are not really usefull IMO...

If they are in GT4 why not... but in PGR2 they really do not make the game better and PD already have other graphical issues to solve before implementing such kind of useless flames...

those pics are probably going to end up all over the net now

Flames would be nice, especially when you're revving up your engine in the beginning.

I half expect to see live's, and my photoshops on websites now LOL

"aww look, proof that gt4 has exhaust flames"

and btw, exhaust pops do make a difference, when you sat still, and revving the crap out of the zonda, and flames are just popping out...awwww *drool*, it's sweet :)

Everything adds to the atmosphere in the game, GT3 needed more of that and I think thats an area PD are trying to improve. And I wouldn't be suprised if the pics have been posted elsewhere lol, look at the 778 car list.

flames are not useless, they are a form of anti lag system for turbos. when you're reving real hard, then let off, the power drops, (for like, a corner) but the revs stay high. allowing you to just floor it again and the turbo being nice and ready.

i think that's how it works.

also it happens on cars that cant burn the fuel quick enough, so unburnt fuel is exiting the combustion chamber, then just as its leaving, its ignited, making a flame out your back end.
