There are members here who play GT4 Prologue on import with no problem.

You will have more luck posting this in the Prologue forum:

I'm sure these days there is not much risk to your PS2 even with the mod chips.

Heres a thread that discusses the merits and dangers of swap magic

Prologue on US spec

Okay first off, i live in the usa(North America). I found some devices that are discs that you just stick in then select the region the game is from then you pop in the game, but these sound very skeptical. I have also found chips, but using those is risking my PS2's life making such tiny soldering's. I really want to play the GT4 Prolouge, what can i do? Are there any other options???

I personally use the "swap disc" system, It works very well for me and I like it because of no internal modding. Try google it or msn me for more info. 👍

Modchips are very safe these days. The latests models work very well.

I have a modded PS2 for about two years, and never had a problem with it.

either you can get a japanese ps2 at http://www.playasia.com or you can get a mod, called flip-top

you cant play prologue on a normal american ps2
I knew i could get a jdm ps2, but that is too expensive for 1 or 2 games that i am going to play, and i would need some type of power converter i think. But what is a Flip-Top??? i am very interested, if not that whatever it is then i am goig to get one the the swap-magic slide card things even though i don't understand how the slide card works :dunce: Please tell me about this flip top thing.

NM i just found the flip top, maybe i will get that. now i need a vote thumbs up for Flip-Top(49.99) or Thumbs down for Swap-Magic w/Slide Card(34.00)(kinda worried about damaging my ps2 with this card thing). Or just tell me whatever. :scared:

I vote swap-magic cause it is cheaper, flip-top essentially uses the same magic disk. Why pay more, if you can pay less. If you are older that 13 you should not have any problem using the slide card. Its you call man.
