I saw a Firefox extension for downloading videos from youtube, google, etc. I also downloaded a .flv player. I also got the Unplug extension, so i can download the .flv file. I downloaded it, and when i drag and drop it into the FLV player nothing happens. Help?!

I think you need this to open those:

This should be in the Computers section, actually. Might wanna move it.

Anyways, have you tried converting the file? That's the best thing to do.

What extension are you using to download them. I believe there are multiple extensions to do so. In addition, I never bothered with FLV player. Replay Converter seems to work better.

The only thing I could question is are you using FLV Player 1.3.3 (latest release)? Does this happen with every file, or did you perhaps get a corrupt download on one?

There is conversion software available if the above are non-issues: http://applian.com/replay-converter/index_flv.php

Do you have your computer set to display file extensions?

yes, i do. because all my other stuff like documents are, for example, gtp.doc

When my Firefox extension downloads the *.flv as 'getvideo', it is a *.htm file and will only open as garbage in my browser. Simply renaming to *.flv should correct this.

I've never used that particular software before, though taking a quick look at the site suggests it to be quite feature-rich. Seems like a good find.

you need to get, a good bitrate on the sound im at 32. the video looks horrible when resizing it to a bigger size, how bout " Super"? Any suggestions from you z? http://www.erightsoft.com/S5l01.html

I tried converting a few of my *.flv files to *.avi with SUPER and it works rather well. I like the fact that it's free and has so many conversion options. Quality wasn't terrible, though when I converted and made the video friendly for Windows Media Player, that file actually crashed it. The one I converted for use with ffdshow worked much better for whatever reason.
