So if there is no position or time gained during the race, no additional penalty?

The reason I ask is I still do go off relatively often from blowing the braking zone pre-chicane and cutting the left corner. Doing so still costs me at least 0.75s over a normal lap because transition from grass to pavement always puts me in a speed scrubbing slide and I cross the start/finish line 3 corners later at least 5mph slower than normal...

Well, pretty much what's going down is this:

We're not expecting anyone to blatantly cut the corners so it'll be obvious if you're just messing up your lap and going off by accident. But we've had races where guys have cut some seriously grassy lines to catch back up to the pack after having being punted off track.

We didn't have a precedent before that since it was the first time it happened and it was first season, so we couldn't do much. But now we know what to do if someone tries to pull the same thing.

You don't have to worry about accidentally going off track, we're not worried about that. RT also mentioned the other only big thing, if you pass someone by going off track, just let him back through and we're all cool.
 
If it's an accident, that's fine. I just don't want anyone doing it on purpose to gain speed.

Thanks Dr W. I put a little more thought in my paint scheme when I heard gt series. More speed probably means less consistency for me though. Gotta get in the NC and run some laps

I'm vaguely familiar with tuning suspension so I may be begging for top 10 finishes. Regardless, I'm going to enjoy back to back races Sunday night

Oh I know, but I read "Done." and was like yay!, and then read one line down and was all "awww." :p

It's all good, I wasn't 100% sure I would be able to make the races anyway. If someone drops out though, I'll definitely take their spot. 👍

yeah its a tricky turn - I usually slam on the brakes and shift to 3rd after the 3rd or 4th red "#3" flashes on my screen, completely let off the gas and brakes and then hard on the gas asap. If I do it right I can have my left wheels on the grass while my right wheels are still hugging the rumble strip. I think that chicane is going to be critical for qualifying well. My best lap was yesterday in the practice room 1:01.817. I'll try to join the new room in a few if its still up, although still waiting for the bag of crap @ woot.com

also if were gona do more joke races, I got something you guys will like. Shuffle race, high boost, NO RULES. Course cutting and bumping is not only allowed, but its encouraged!
