Envy no more GT5 n T500, now FM4 has Fanatec to back it up!

as Amazon ruined my day by delayin' the delivery on TH8RS, receiving package from Fanatec has made me feel a bit better ..
say no more, here are the pix! Enjoy

Just like the new xBox, the shiny black case look really nice, but picks up finger prints easily.
Shifter:
works fine, worth its value, but the way it mounts to wheel just hideous

Wheel:
works greats, more than what I expected. Good ffb, nice texture at grip. however, there are two things i don't like abt the CSR wheel.
1. it makes a high pitch noise, which really gets on my nerve.. it is a very high frequency pitch, sounds like the electric current in work, I thought the noise was come from the fan, but apparently the noise is from the motor... that "SHIN" noise can break through mental n drive ppl insane in some extreme cases
2. I can't have full grip on the wheel, as the center metal plate is very wide, I like my fingers grip around the rim nicely as holding the rim, not in CSR i can't have fingers grip around the rim, instead like holdin' a dish or Frisbee.
Other than those two minor complains, wheel is very smooth n strong.

Pedals:
As i always want to try the legendary CSP, but I don't race on PC, so i went for CSR Elite. Pedals is very very good quality, n very adjustable. the feel on brake and clutch is great, but the gas pedals feels a bit light and makes a plastic sliding sound. I wonder if i can use this pedals w T500 in GT5, as I like this pedal more than T500s'

Above are my first impression of CSR shifers, wheel and elite pedals; base on 4 hours play time on FM4

Very nice photos! Also, the CSR Elite Pedals still offer USB connectivity with superior precision for PC sims. You didn't lose that capability with the cheaper pedals.

I notice your pedal plates like the "Beta Pedals" I have are not countersunk to the left/right holes only the middle, mmmmm.

Identical setup as mind.

My wheel is dead quiet. no high pitch noise at all. I find the digital encoder very precise and man do I l love the no wabbling like crazy on straighaway. You can let go of the wheel and it will go straight.

So far with all the practice I had I am still 1 sec slower then the controller but I am getting there. I find that using the pedal with shoes on gives me a better feel of the break pedal. Like a real car. I find the gas pedal tension to be very weak. I am guessing I would need the 30% stronger spring.

My kids taught me this lesson. That's what I get for leaving them out where they could find them.

Can you pop the cover off the connection board underneath the pedals and upload a photo. Curious as want to see the layout on the "retail model" and also the handbrake connection.

Give the pedals sometime to bed in.
The feel of these is different to the CSP and if anything a little stiffer for the brake and the clutch. Still need to do proper testing though to the CSP.

On the CSRe pedals has the clutch spring action changed from the CSP's ? I think Teki Ei Ichi did this mod. It makes the clutch pedal pressure quit rising during the second half of it's stroke; like in RL.

Major props to Fanatec if this is the case.

Two reasons for no left/right countersink. 1) If you want to change the spacing, each entire pedal assembly can be shifted. 2) With plastic involved I'm sure the engineers want to minimize any twisting forces that offset pedal plates would introduce.

Going to steal your idea with the shifter mount. But of course alternate it a bit to my preference.

Not a good reason ? You may have read my post but you clearly don't get what I'm saying.

Are the pedal arms as robust as they are on the CSP's ? If not there could also be twisting issues with them as well.

In closing. why do you think they didn't countersink them.

The point your missing is having them done with full countersunk would be better and not require repositioning a complete pedal stem to offset a pedal more left-right.

I dont know, however I will ask.
Probably the same reason why early batches of the CSP were the same with only the middle row countersunk. I dont know when they revised the CSP plates but they certainly did so that all holes are countersunk.

Who knows maybe their are future Elite pedals to come in colour options just like the CSP pedals and maybe those will be full countersunk? Then again maybe not.

As for pedals flexing thats not even an issue.
