I was thinking just now, hmm, can i remember any sports cars out of vice city? The answer, no. Well, i can remember two - Phoenix and Banshee off hand, but if i browse through the names in the san andreas strategy guide, i remember a few more.
Oooh! I just remembered the infernus!
Anyway, i was wondering if anyone else feels this way, which cars can you remember, other than the three i have just mentioned? Or Bikes, but there's only 4 of them.
Anyone remember anything?
Oh, and while i'm here, has anyone timed roughly how lon it gets from the bottom of one island to the next, as i would like to compare it to the san andreas equivilent time.

If you really want to compare the size of the 2 games-- get in a chopper and go to a point (say bottom of an island)-- pause-- write down your distance traveled in heli stat-- then fly to your second point (say top of island)-- pause-- write it down again-- take the difference and you have a distance---

Do same for SA...

I was gonna try to do this and get a guestimate on the different sizes of land masses (to get a comparison).

No I haven't forgotten VC-- SA can't compare with it (emotionally speaking)-- since VC was my first GTA-- I was a GTA virgin when I played VC the first time-- so its hard for any game to measure up.

-- the only thing that irritates me in VC now is drowning-- it didn't bother me before I could swim in SA.

Ah yes, the paralyzing fear of water in all previous GTAs.
I remember some post in here about someone circumnavigating both SA and VC in a boat and comparing their sizes. I think SA turned out to be about 20x larger, but there was a miscalculation in the discussion somewhere and I don't know if that's the right figure or the wrong one.

Cars: I remember the Infurnus being a Countach, I remember all the gang cars (a tradition ended in SA), and the C4 Banshee. I also remember some FWD sport convertable thing that was really hard to find for the Sunshine Autos missions. It handled really well, but I don't remember what it was called.
Aren't all the bikes from VC in SA as well? (except the Angel, but that doesn't really count)
What I can remember that isn't in SA:
-The police cars/taxis
-The FWD convertable thing
-The old-style rhino
-gang cars. (I guess the Voodoo sort of is, and you can probably get flame paint on a Hermies. Are they RWD though? In VC the normal ones were FWD)
-Angel
-old versions of cars (Infurnus, Banshee, Hotring)

That seems to be all I can remember.

well i only played 100hours of VC and i say only as ive nearly got 200 in SA, but i remeber lots about VC, i have a better idea of where the ***k I am in VC than i do in SA, i still get lost in SA.

I wont be forgetting VC for a while.

I've actually had dreams where I'm navigating the streets of VC- weird as hell. I think VC was probably the classic of the series, and will probably go down as one that made an impact, next to GTA III of course.

I haven't forgotten Vice City. It's by far my favourite of all the GTA games. It felt more like GTA than San Andreas, and had more features than GTA 3. I felt San Andreas' features were a little extensive, to be honest. I was wishing for every feature imaginable before San Andreas came out, and when I got most of what I wished for, I was disappointed.

I liked the simplicity of Vice City, with a much more appealing storyline (to me) and various other features which in my opinion were significantly better than San Andreas, such as the radio stations, save-houses and neat GTA-styled cars.

The smaller size of the city was compensated for by the Druglord/Kingpin theme, and also the look and layout of the city.

All-in-all, Vice City accommodated most of my tastes, and I'll get around to playing it again soon. 👍

I have just remembered the stinger.
That's true, i still get lost in san andreas, but mainly in los santos, damn that freeway, i can never get off it.
Vice city was a bit annoying in the fact that you could easyily drown. Am i right in thinging that gta 3 had a feature that if you fell in the water near a boat or jetty, you wouldn't drown? I don't have gta 3, but i have seen it happen.

Remembered the Deluxo and Saber Turbo (really, how much code would it have taken to keep the Saber Turbo? That was my favorate car in VC).

VC does unquestionably have a better story and characters, I just really didn't like the city. Even Liberty was more fun, VC is just too flat.

There was a glitch in GTA III that enabled you to respawn back on land right next to the water if you fell in the water right next to land. This also happened in Vice City.

Other than that, there was no way of getting out of drowning in either game if you fell in. Swimming was one of the biggest improvements that I enjoyed in San Andreas.

I remember everything about VC. I love Vice City, and always will. It was the first game that I really really loved. I have been very busy lately, and I havn't been able to do much posting or playing video games. You guys are starting to get me a little teary-eyed talking about the good ol' days. :( :guilty: :indiff:  :p :D :trouble:

I still play my Modded PC Vice City almost daily, and my stock PC version maybe once a month to re-live some of the missions.

Don't play the PS2 version much, 'cept for stunts on the PCJ.

I miss the old Infernus and Banshee...

Anyone else think VC would be cool in the SA engine? With the new textures, reflection mapping, car physics, not-dying-due-to-a-little-water.... oh and airplanes would be cool...
But I ramble.

Actually, after a week of playing GT4 I've forgotten every other game I have.

God, i still remember Liberty City, hell, I even remember my first GTA: GTA 2. I know my way around GTA2 and remember a fair few cars. I remember my way around VC and Liberty City, plus all the cars in both. Hell, I think San Andreas is probably the game I know least, maybe I know it a bit more than GTA2.

When not doing missions, I like to cruise the streets. But vice city had no hills and not many off road places so you couldn't really test the power of the vehicles. Also, San Andreas had more options to screw around with when not on missions, go on a killing spree, go sky diving ( or high dive into water), recuit team members and doing drive by's (or take them out anywhere to kill), take pictures of anything, sneak up behind people and slit their necks, mod cars, and lots of other stuff.

When I go back to VC, I feel limited to what I can do, I mean there's still a **** load of stuff you can do, but I find it hard to go back.

But back to the topic, I still remember alot of stuff in Vice City, maybe because I didn't start playing it until like half a year later.

Some Characters I remember
- lance
- Diaz
- Phil
- That cowboy dude
- Hilroy
- Sonny
- That hooker I picked up
- Her friend
- The Colonal

Some vehicles I remember.

-Comet
- Stinger
- BF injection
- MX Sential
- Deluxo
- Sand King

I remember GTAIII and GTAVC like the back of my hand. I can close my eyes and picture every square inch of both games.

I can remember Vice City like I played it yesterday. Although SA has such extensive features, I'm starting to think that games are becoming too releastic. It's almost like you're not really playing a game. I just kind of miss that feeling, but Vice City and all of the older games bring it back. 👍

I forgot about GTA3 and VC. GTA 3 was my favorite, no doubt before SA.

However, I've sold both GTA 3 and VC after not playing since SA came out.
I just love to drive around in SA, because there is so much land to see.

Plus, the Riot Cheat just automatically does it for me.

wow i wouldnt be able to sell vc or gta3 there like my children.. lol.... i still think its close between sa and gta3 though....

I still have GTA3 and Vice City, only i have to play them again because my Memory Card got messed up a while ago, even my San Andreas Save got corrupted :grumpy:

I still see Vice City as my favourite GTA game :)

I still have GTA 3 and GTA VC.

I know VC like the back of my head, GTA 3 not as well but still good enough.

GTA SA i vote as my favourite and i know LV, SF and the country areas enough to navigate easily, but i still get lost in LS.

Me too. The GTA worlds get progressively bigger, which is cool. Can`t wait to see how big the GTA worlds on PS3 will be. :nervous:

Yeah, that'll be insane.

I know GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas considerably better than the back of my hand. My Girlfriend's Sister thinks that's sad. :sly:
