For the Pros: Difference in JP Cars?

Funny, I just did a couple drives in a couple different Miatas, and was gonna start a thread about the differences I felt. I had no idea this thread was here tonight.

The first drive was in the '89 that's from the Premium lot. The second was from a '97 or '98, a Standard from the Used Car Lot. I must say there was a huge difference between these two, not sure if it's because they're Premium versus Standard or not.

Both cars were on Comfort Soft tires. Brake Balancer off (I always turn it off unless I'm driving an actual race car), but no other changes. No additional parts added. The '89 had this habit of grabbing fiercely into hairpin turns. I'd brake-in, let off the brakes, and the front-end would literally grab. If I had too much steering input, the car would start to slide. It felt actually kinda dangerous to drive.

In the Standard car, I noticed not so much grabbing, in fact there was a bit of understeer. This car felt a lot safer in turns for sure , though.

Most baffling is that PD duplicate so many of these MX5's yet do not include arguably the best Limited Editions like the RS-Ltd, R-Ltd, S Ltd, BBR Turbo and Mazdaspeed NB.

GT2 had a nice selection of A-spec, B-spec, and C-spec Mazdaspeeds if I remeber correctly. It's been awhile, though. Pupik's website has them all listed but I'm about to go to bed...

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say that the differences between them were due to the 8-9 year difference in the models you used. With all the development that would've happened between the first '89 model and the last '97 or first '98 model.

Perhaps. Either way, that is a difference.

The EU, J, and NA Miata's/Roadsters are all different? Never knew PD would put time into each of them instead of just getting it right for one and copying/pasting on all the other ones
