For the tuners. GT5 is now "the real driving simulator" NOT "your driving simulator"

I have to go for now

But I do understand how democratic people are in the world

Definition of democracy : people rule themselves

But democracy however does not apply in a driving simulator.

I am good to be turned down by teams in this thread
I'm just saying my views of the reality of a driving simulation

Cya later

Wow, it's like a train wreck you know you shouldnt look at but you have too.

Thanks for wasting 10 minutes of my time ENZO 309, thanks for posting this nonsense.

I am going back to racing, buying cars and changing my gear ratios around as much as I damn well please because its my game, my experience and my perogative.........................................................................................

Tune ups by your own brain isn't very common in a "driving simulator"
I know gear ratios. Back in GT4, I would spend hours and drive thousands of miles simply setting up the transmissions of cars. In fact, it is just about the only thing that I really know how to adjust without outside help.

tl;dr, I know exactly what I'm doing when tuning transmissions. And yet I shouldn't be allowed to do it in this game because I don't have a mechanics certification?

There are appropriates and inappropriates
And why are you allowed to be the one to arbitrarily place where that line is? Particularly when you haven't given any actual reasons as to why.

I can end this thread.

You buy a racing gearbox for your car. its called "fully customizable transmission"

If you can understand english, you should just about be face palming yourself right now.

1. Not everyone is a mechanic specialist.
4. If you want to be a mechanic go to mechanic school.

I wasn't aware I needed to be ASE certified to play a video game. I also don't have a racing license, let alone for F1, LM, or GT races, does that mean I'm not allowed to not allowed to do any racing in this game? Come to think of it, I only own the title to a couple of cars that are in the game, should I only be allowed to drive those? If I wanted to race, I should go to a racing school, right?

Man, this thread...

No we aren't the manufacturer, but even Nissan couldn't stop people modifying the GT-R, despite there being clauses in the warranty.

The manufacturers have to work within such strict criteria that the cars they sell are nothing like the vision of the engineering department or the design department. They're a real-world compromise and thankfully, tuners unlock the true potential of the car.

In Enzo309's world, driving simulator drives you.

If it was "the real driving simulator" we would be sitting INSIDE the car with cockpit views. Only 20% of the cars have this option. This is just one example. The list of how this is not a driving simulator is very large. 👎

Go play NFS. It's annoying to see someone demanding untunable cars.

Well if you don't want to tune them. Just don't :S.

"pinnacle of driving simulation now"

that one made me laugh. you & PD should get with the times buddy. 👎

Oh dear, oh dear...

I need to tune my cars. They're not quick enough without tuning (or I'm not good enough!). And guess what - it's what racers do too (IRL). Short track like Tzukuba, short gears for quick acceleration. Not much good on the mulsanne straight though....!

There is only one real proper gear setup for each car in the transmission. Most change the rear end gear ratios to adjust for track differences.

I'm sure this is what you were implying though.

Here's the thing. Every modification I've done to my car in GT, I've done to my car in real life. In fact, I've done more to my real car. Just because you don't know how to tune certain things, doesn't mean they shouldn't them it in there.

He's referring to the game's physics. If anything, cockpit view is geared more towards casual gamers and pad users, for obvious reasons.

Again, this thread is stupid, and pointless and i am being stupid for even posting and allowing it to be bumped.

At this point, it would be stupid to let this thread degenerate any further.

/Locked for the time being.
