I was wondering how many people plan to buy the wheel that is coming out at the same time as the GT4 game? Do you think it is a must or will you use the old wheel or controller? What's your opinion.

Im definately gonna buy the new wheel ( i dont have one yet ) And Ive been racing with the DS1/DS2 for a long time, and nothing will change my opinion that a wheel can bring out even better lap times. Even if the DS2 has that sensitivity control thing, it will never be as precise as a good wheel.

I've been holding out for a good wheel for a very long time. I would have got the FF Logitech a long time ago except no one would stock it here. So yeah, definately going to get it, and use it when it comes out in November.

I will definitely be using the old wheel, I'm not gonna go out and buy another one for this system!? It's expensive and I have one that works just fine. Besides, honestly I like using the analog sticks on the controller more than the wheel because it's a pain to drag that wheel out and then try to position my self for driving. I feel like it's less work for doing the same thing although I'm not sure if I'm losing out for practicing drifting. Oh well.

I would have gotten the Logitec, btu when I went in to buy it, they ran out. So I bought a couple other games instead. As for the new one, it basically depends on how much cash I've got.

Thats true. Having a wheel is gonna be a hassle. And finding a good driving position is going to be near impossible. How is the grip on the wheel's base? and the pedals? I have a feeling Im gonna move the entire wheel base as Im racing, and that the pedals are gonna keep moving as well. :irked:

The only problem I have is not the base moving so much but getting into the driving position, not being too close or too far or too upright that kind of thing. As for the pedals it's keeping it from moving away from you. The grips are not the problem but at least so far the feeling from the car and the road is not really that much better than the vibration from the controller so there's not that much advantage in using the wheel at least IMO.

Yeah, probably - the big question in my mind is PC compatibility. I know the wheel has a 'legacy' mode which enables backwards compatibility.

I don't give a rat's arse about competitiveness on-line - I want GT to be as realistic an experience as I can get it, and that's what I got with the GT-Force. If the Driving Pro offers that, I'll probably buy it. I'd just prefer not to buy it just for one game.

why don't you guys build a cockpit or buy one. I have raced at the local dirt track for a few years and when I climb into my car its the same every time thats what you get when you build a cockpit. you don't have to drag everything out because it's already set up. As for the wheel Logitech has a very good design that holds it in place as good as any race car I have ever drove. The pedals are simple all you have to do is get the right angle on them so your feet are comfortable and screw them down to a platform. We are selling cockpits and plans so if you are interested let me know. If you don't use the wheel you haven't raced the game yet or not the game that those of us with a wheel have.

You made this poll so you could turn it into a sales pitch? That's ****ing weak.

BTW, you guys do realize that the Driving Force Pro will be at least $200, right? A big, fully-covered wheel, 900-degree rotation, better FF, weighted base with large pedals, paddle shift and a separate stick shift -- that's not gonna be cheap.

I am so there... :eek:

I've already started saving up my money. As far as buying a cockpit? I don't think so, the shipping would kill. ;)

cool, where did you pre -@ driftster?

I have to buy two, one at home and one for the cockpit at the race room.

::cough:: space ::cough:: money ::cough::

I don't know where you all live or get money, $200 for a wheel?? I got the mad cat wheel when PS1 was around for GT1 and 2. I used it a total of like 10 times maybe?? Bottom line I don't think it's worth the money besides I'm not a video game person I just love cars. The DF logitech not that much better for $100? Call me cheap but it's just a game and well I don't have as much time to play it. Come winter or school time I barely watch T.v. So, 200$ for the new wheel, then that means I don't use the logitech and I don't play PS2 that often... no thanks. I mean yeah it's a game and yeah I hear GT calling my name all the time but I don't think failing school or not getting more important things done is the way to go IMO.
