with all the updates coming as of late and now every car has a incar view wether its detailed or standard, do you think they would implement an option for forced incar view online? personally i would love it and think it would be be a great idea

No because everyone has a different view that they like to drive in and that whould make it unfair for the people dislike cockpit view.

That wouldn't be fair, for example I don't usually use interior view because I find it hard to see around me. I can do decently with the interior view, but I'm a lot better with the chase cam.

yeh but what im saying as a server option i think it would be good its no different really to no srf or abs its just another option to have.

And guys who are really good with interior would force it on, giving them an advantage over people who aren't good. Plus, if it were forced, some cars have terrile interior views and visibility, further hurting some players. For example, the interior of the GT40 has literally no visibility.

Would love that feature, just like in some PC sim games.

So guys who play the game all the time and are more trained, or guys who drive with steering wheels, shouldn't be allowed to host rooms, because beginners or pad users could join?

No, but putting a restriction on would give them an unfair advantage. Views should be free to choose.

This. I prefer roof cam since the interior view is horribly small on my 19" TV. Finding the only decent room available and then seeing it's "cockpit view only" would piss many people off.

Shoving something down someone's throat is just wrong. Of course- "just find another lobby!!!!111!! Herpderp." or "ask the host to turn it off!!! Herpderp."

But what if that's the only good lobby for that track, and you want to race on that track (and let's say you can't host good lobby's due to an iffy ISP)- out of luck. Asking the host doesn't help ether- you never know if the bastard will kick you or listen to you.

This, the point I was trying to make, but I couldn't articulate it properly.

Personally I think there should be a forced interior view, as long as there's also a better lobby filter. In fact, there should just be a better lobby filter anyway; I hate it when you find a lobby that has 450-550pp road car restrictions, yet you can put racing soft tyres on the cars.

Where's the fun in that? Not that I'm wishing to start an anti-racing tyres argument, just saying that it seems really odd to have low powered cars on tyres that'll never break traction, that's all, not to mention that it takes away a lot of the skill so it turns into a competition of who tuned their car properly and who didn't... Admittedly I'm always the one who didn't tune their car properly, but even so!

Anyway, I digress, if the player can choose whether or not they want to have a restricted view then I say do it, the more custom settings, the better, as long as other players can see all the lobby settings before they enter and filter out those they know they won't want to join. Since the update I've been racing in cockpit view exclusively, and I think I enjoy it a lot more than the bumper cam. Before the update I couldn't be bothered to remember to switch between the two when I was getting in a premium after a race in a standard, so just never bothered. Oh and another car with pretty poor visibility is the High Performance G37. The roll cage obscures the rear view mirror and the wing obscures the rear view camera... I had to rely on looking right to see if there was anything in my wing mirror, which is tricky when you're trying to race, on hard sports tyres, in the rain.

Totally agree with neema_t. Saying it shouldn't be restricted, because it gives other guys an advantage, doesn't make sense, because then there shouldn't be any restrictions (driving aids, PP, tyres).

Crazy, like real motorsports, seriously booo!!!

Hell ya Forced in car view...

How about this point...All real cars are Driven from the inside not Bumpers and such..

I drove a real car Once, and I was inside(sarcasm):):dunce:

And when it start too rain then bumper cam has an advantage. Host needs more options then we have now, like ban ABS and force interior veiw. If the room is not what you like then there is other rooms or host yourself.

A good point with the rain. Also agree about the ABS.

I agree with this. But as an option, it sounds cool.

It would be stupid to beg for a chase cam or first person cam on a shooting game with only one type. Wanting 3rd person on Battlefield or First person on GTA IV would cause an argument of which is better. Keeping the playing field more even is a good idea.

Personally, I hate the interior cam. Can't see too well and it shakes too much for my liking. But if it was the only option, I'd grow accustomed to it and it would definitely be more immersive.

More restriction options online is welcome. I'm hoping for a saveable ban-list for cars or tuning options to make sure you only race with what you want. ('cause people keep down-grading cars to fit in with restrictions and such.)

If they would also give me the 'look in to apex' camera option. I want to see where i'm driving to...

Take the Trans Cammer around Spa with narrow cockpit view.
You can't see a single right hand Apex. I was guessing the whole race

I'd love this option. If you don't like it you could always join a different lobby. I don't see how it's an unfair advantage. It's harder than most other views especially in the rain. It's also the most realistic view.

Its harder than real interior view because you can't turn your head. :p

Inside veiw has its faults, but IMO a host should be able too make his own rules. Too be honest I am really suprised PD have not made it posssible to force ABS-0, chance of forced inside veiw is coming before forced ABS-0 is pretty slim... More options is always better IMO.

I vote no on this really. 2 reasons;

1. For those saying you drive a car from the inside, do you drive in real life? If so, think how you drive. Do you drive with your head glued in 1 place continually looking perfectly straight on, or do you turn your head to look round the corner?

2. The latest Need for Speed has this feature and it doesn't work at all, in the end this killed the online apsect for me, people turning this feature on, and it even has the feature of looking round the corners.

I think look to apex could work as i have used it in both GTR2 and rFactor. In those games i used the in car view all the time. In Gt5 i just can't get used to the in car view though for whatever reason.

Yes, yeas and yes.

First yes because we need more options for making custom-rooms.

Second yes because cockpit-view creates different sensation of driving in many levels and changes the overall behaviour in race for all participants.

And third yes because I want to be 100% sure that everybody in my Lounge/Room really drives with cockpit - even they all swear on Bible they do - but there is no way I can be sure unless we have a "checkbox".

So yes. Thanx.

While some in-car views are great, I can't deal with the view out of, say, the Citroen GT RM's cockpit for more than 5 seconds. There's a lot of cars you just can't see out of. I would still like to be able to use those cars however, so no.

You should be able to have any view you choose. I'm not sure how cockpit view is "realistic" unless you're prone to out of body experiences while driving. Seeing two sets of hands and two steering wheels is completely silly in my opinion and it throws off the realism for me. The monitor should represent the windshield, so really a hood cam is the most realistic view or the completely exterior cam (It's not a "bumper" cam from what I've observed but at roughly eye level so it would be realistic as well).

I think it's a good idea to have more options to restrict the online races. Like mr_VOLCANO said: more options is better, as it allows for more finetuning of the online experience and drive with similar-minded people. 👍

Personally, I never use interior view, and for this reason: the default interior view is optimised for a person sitting fairly close to the screen, and I sit at 2.5 metres from it, which makes it feel like I'm driving the car from the trunk.

Of course, you can zoom in in the interior view, but GT5 achieves zooming in by moving the driver position forward. 👎 Which means that in a zoomed interior viewing the wheels of the car are not where you expect them to be, which feels very weird (it feels like the driver is at the bumper while you are viewing from the inside at the same time), especially in the largest zoom setting (which is what is best for the distance I am sitting from the screen).

I never race online with the incar view. I would like to but im just not competitive in this view. If it was a server option to make it a level playing field i think it could had another dimension to the game in terms of realism. A mode where damage is max, in car view, manual transmission and more

Speaking of in-car views...has anyone here tried playing GT5 in 3-D? I always wondered if you switched to the in-car views...if you can enable some motion-capture to turn your head left, right, up, or down when in the in-car view. Has anyone thought about that other than me...??
