Except the biggest buyers of this will more than likely be Americans, and we apparently, don't like or care for diesel cars all that much. If we did, we'd have a lot more available to us. You can use that 355Bhp & still achieve the est. mpg if you drive smart. As I just noted, I can achieve my est. results and I really let my car out at least once every drive.

I suspect (and correct me if I'm wrong!) that most Americans see diesel as a fuel for trucks as it's not generally available for passenger cars. I also suspect that if they were exposed to the instant torque, excellent fuel economy and general 'drivability' of modern diesels that they would love them.

The big thing is that diesel fuel is hard to get in big cities. There's plenty of pumps 'round here because we have lots of pickups and farm vehicles.

Where do trucks re-fuel?

Couldn't be that difficult to make it available... most UK service stations now have 2 grades of petrol, 2 grades of diesel and LPG as well... Not so many years back was just 4* and diesel... sure it wouldn't be difficult to convert a pump.

Typically at large truck stops outside of urban areas. You've gotta realize that trucks in the US, (like cars, trains, and other such things) are pretty big, and don't go into city centers or suburban areas unless they have to make their deliveries there.

I'm also pretty certain that the black smoke that spouts from a lot of diesel truck stacks, (Typically older, privately owned trucks,) doesn't make a very good advertisement for their "Greenness." In fact, many diesels sold in Europe do not meet US Emissions Standards. That's one reason we don't see more here.

It seems like most of the gas stations inside of Chicago and Miami had diesel pumps, but it was usually only on one... Maybe two. In big cities like those, the largest "truck" you're going to find is likely going to be:

A) A FedEx/UPS delivery truck
B) A FedEx/UPS delivery van
C) A Mitsubishi Fuso delivery thing
D) A Cadillac Escalade

Depends, really.

'till you get onto the interstate, the realm of the 18-wheeler.

I'm in Chicago right now...the Interstate is littered with 'em.

What!? I see tons of 18 wheelers in SF... And SF is hilly! Most stations in the bay area have diesel. And every station in the central valley have at least 1 type of diesel fuel.

Well, thats the highway. I was thinking of actual roads. You know. Where the buildings are.

TBH, you really only have to worry about one thing on the streets Chicago...

YSSMAN, do you mean someone bought that thing and is actually driving it on the streets?

That's Gotham, which I believe is fictional, like Metropolis....

See ROAD_DOGG's post. Most of the movies were filmed in Chicago, TDK I believe even moreso than begins. Its cool watching the show and seeing places where you been, eaten, stayed.

RE: Did they actually build that thing?

Yes. Privateers are building their own as well. Like this guy, who did it all in his garage.

I mean, its just a steel tube chassis and a Chevy 350, right? Who cares if its freakin' huge and can't turn on a dime?
