Alright I've checked Ford of America and Ford of Europe and I can't seem to find this truck. It's basically a really big SUV that looks like an Expedition and Range Rover cross breed. So can someone tell me where these are from? They look useless if you ask me, and I've seen about 4 on the road. They are all LHD. So is it some new model or just something from over seas?

That's not the truck I saw.

Could have been the newer model though.

Why do american manufacturers name cars after thing's they've killed off or plan on killing off? :) :guilty:

Wow that thing is ugly, what I saw was a better looking vehicle of the one I posted furthur up. I'm guessing it's a newer model of the Everest. Why do car companies sell such ugly cars overseas? I mean after looking at the Blazer from other parts of the world I'm shocked things like that sell.

Only in other countries can you take a bland SUV and make it looks like an ugly mini van .

This is the Blazer over here. I don´t think it´s ugly, but I wouldn´t buy one myself. Click on "Visão 360º" or "Fotos e Vídeos" to have a better look at it if you wish.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For example I'm sure Chris Bangle thinks the 7 series BMW looks great. To me it looks like an over priced taxi.
Personally Im not impressed by the looks of most modern US cars. Sure there are some like the Ford GT that look great, but for every sweet car like that there are 100 Neons, or Azteks. ewww

:yuck: Thats the mini van Blazer. The only cool part about that truck is the tail lights. I would love to get a hold of a couple of pairs since I could sell them for a ton of money to mini truckers. It's kinda like GM couldn't figure out to sell the S-15 or the S-10 so they just combined em.

I like the model names of them. The Tornado, Colina, etc. The interior on them blows away my truck though. I'm impressed. Plus a 2.8L Diesel engine? They need to sell that here, but the 2.4L gas engine is terriable. How come they didn't give you guys the 4.3L? Is gas uber expensive down there?

The Ford Everest was the planned replacement for the Ford Excursion, but will most likely now become the "Expedition XL"

Well that answered my question...thanks.

Yeah, gas is expensive here. Usually if you buy this kind of car you´ll either get the Diesel model, or the Gasoline model and install GNV, which means something like "Natural Vehicle´s Gas". The engine will lose about 20% of its power using it, but it´s much, much cheaper than gasoline. Also, you can switch between the two at anytime.

Ya a buddy of mine who lived in Mexico for quite sometime was tell me about the natural gas systems. They sound pretty cool, but he said something about if you use it to long it messes up your engine. We need stuff like that in America, it would be great.

What!? Isn't that a ripoff of the GMC Yukon XL?

Well either you have been seeing unmasked new Ford Everest SUVs, or Ford of Michigan builds the Phillipeans version of the Explorer called the Everest:

The possibility exists that either these are foreign Ford vehicles built here and exported, or that they are brought here for testing purposes (for instance, Nissan tested Skyline GT-Rs in America), they are here for diplomatic reasons, or that they were here to be used in commercials/photography, something that foreign makers like to do.

I actually got to talk to one of the guys today while I was at a gas station. He was there getting something to eat. I asked him what the hell it was. He told me that they were an independent comany working on something (can't remember what he told me). They were the 2007 Everest and they weren't going to be sold in America, that he knew of.

What? Since when is XL a trademark? It means eXtra Large...
I understand, I still think it's a ripoff. At the least it's copying.

Beauty aside.

Wow! A whopping 121 horsepower. Ford must have really put their heads together for that!

Even an intercooler! OVERACHIEVERS!

Seriously. Things like this need a little more power than that.

That makes merging dangerous.

I don't understand you, not in the littlest way. So what about t-shirt sizes and soft-drink containers? I'm really not trying to sound mean, but it's a generic abreviation, I can't see it being a ripoff of anything. What about SE, EL, R, GT, etc?

OK. I've never heard of EL, but SE, R, GT are very common. How many vehicle are there, other than Yukon, that has "XL". I thought it was only one vehicle on the planet, that had those initials. T-Shirt and drink sizes are really irrelevant, I'm talkin' cars. I've been wrong before, I apologize if "XL" thing was not that unique.

P.S. Don't worry, I wouldn't be offended about something like this. :D

Except it's not even an official name, just a tentative name for what isn't even out yet...

Well, there's definitely the GMC Envoy, which also uses the designation.

One thing you will find though is that Ford has used the XL designation as a trim level on its trucks for years - they still do, on the Ranger, and have previously on the F-150, Explorer, and E-series vans, among others. I'd say they have just as much claim to it as GMC, who began using it in 2000.

For the record, the Suzuki XL-7 uses the name to denote the very same thing - a longer bodystyle. The Cadillac XLR uses the initials, and Lexus flips them around to make the LX470.

Ranger XL? I've never heard of that. :odd: You're talking about "XL" right? not XLT or anything.....

Well in any case, you bring up enough examples to support the case. I stand corrected! :)

The359: I assumed it was the final name, my bad. Where have you been, btw?

M5: That last LX470 is a bit of stretch. Don't you think? :D

Yeah, but I assume it serves the same purpose. Luxury, extra large. You know?

They make a Ranger XL, unfortunately for all involved. it's the base model. I'm sure it's on Ford's website.
