Ford GT Spec II racecar (Premium) for American indy grind?

Hey guys. I use a Ford GT race car (standard) that I won to grind indy in the American series a-spec. However I figure it might be slightly more fun in a premium. How does the mutli-million Ford GT race car in the Gran Turismo garage compare to the standard model race car? Is it as quick and tight in corners? Just curious if it's worth the buy at some point.
 
So the Spec II's are only Standard. There are no PREMIUM GT LM Race Cars.
 
Sorry to be vague as I'm not on consul right now, but the one I use is a standard Ford GT race car that I won as a prize car, the color is offwhite with black striping. The one I'm considering buying is located in the Gran Turismo garage in the dealership, is several million credits to buy and is black with GT symbol (is a race car model I believe). I think it is called spec II test car or something like that. Not exactly sure but the one in Gran Turismo garage is the one I'm referring to.

There is a premium Ford GT LM Test Car Spec II, it's under Gran Turismo and costs 3.600.000 Cr.
I haven't bought it yet, that car used to be a beast on GT5:Prologue (it was the fastest GT5:P car excluding F2007).
And at threadstarter, both cars are the same.
The liveries is all that's different.
 
I think the 'Gran Turismo' Test Car is better, was at least 1.5 seconds quicker a lap and it's premium so it looks very nice too. Worth the buy, if you are grinding it will earn it's keep that's for sure.

Ah, well I've seen the Black one you speak of in events I run. I only have the regular GT 40 RC (60s ear), Ford GT 05-06 and the GT LM Spec II.

Hands down the LM Spec II is the best out of what I own, and I smoked the Black GT you speak of in all the races it was in.
 
But I will go and look into purchasing the Black one, just to finish off my collection of GTs :)
 
Cool, thanks for the help. Yeah I've been looking for the fastest win in this race for grinding purposes, but get bored of "bumper cam" for so many laps in a circle. But first, Formula GT for that stupid race series. Then maybe this car then grind for a 908 with it :).

The black GT spec 11 test car is the quickest of the 2 given the same driver testing them and well worth the money.
If its pure grinding use a X2010 in like the wind you earn quicker, if you dont have one send FR to mark20002 and i will put one online for you to use.

You cant trade that 908 only put online for loan.
 
I have both the test & race cars. Here's the stats according to mygranturismo.com

Test- 601BHP, 1165kg, 736nm & 633pp
Race-629BHP, 1130kg, 740nm & 635pp

I always use the test just for the sweet cockpit view & i always thought it was faster :confused:
 
The Premium GT Spec II Test Car ("the black one") is by far superior to the standard white Spec II.

And if you don't trust human opinion, you can watch these 2 cars compete regularly in the Dream Car Championship. 99 times out of 100, the black Test Car wins.

i find it sounds better tbh as well. because its premium PD seem to have bothered with a half realistic engine note :p

also i agree it was an absolute beast in GT5P was so fast around fuji

i really want to get one but i cant ever seem to be bothered to grind up to 3.6 mill lol
 
The black FORD GT is a car which can earn you 97.000cr in 3:36-3:38 at Indy (American Championship). Pedal to the metal :dopey:

I used both cars for grinding the American Indy and I can confirm that the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car (the black one) is faster.

(Actually it's quite funny and surprising that you can use it in this race because the manufacturer is Gran Turismo, thus Japanese ...)
 
I've got both models and there's very little performance difference.

The black model has a different suspension tune to begin with... with tunes being a thing of preference that could be what's making the difference for certain drivers.

Buy the black one - you won't regret it!

Thanks everyone. I know Kaz (er, however you spell his name) is a fan of the Ford GT so I'd hope he'd put a lot of effort into the car he owns :)

I'm interested in this car, and I like grinding the American race because you get more money per race, however I could see the x2010 (whenever I get one) being a quicker money maker overall in LTW. The white Ford GT is quite amazing to drive but for grinding the cockpit would hold my interest slightly more I think, and I am glad to hear most have had positive results. Cheers.
 
I just bought the car- the premium Spec II test car- last night. It's a brilliant car to drive (my G25 set to 10). Even with the stock setup, I can run it much faster than the more powerful Zonda R. Another plus is the sound.
 
I have both of them as well, did the avid tune on the test car and WHOA NELLIE, it is for real.
 
I have all models of the Ford GT. My favorite is the Spec II as well. One of my first over $100,000 cars was the 05. One of my favorite cars to drive.
 
The Test car is great fun to drive. It has alot of Torque out of those back wheels but i'd recommend buying it if you get the opportunity :)
 
I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like this car....I only drive it if I have to like in gt5p.

It does have balls though...I will give it that.
 
Can you drive the Formula GT in the American Series? This would make a difference as well, since I have to buy one of these for the series.
