I have both cars, they are quite similar, but the test car is a little better overall.
Simply brilliant! It can summon a tsunami of torque out of corners, yet remains perfeclty tractable with careful throttle application. Massive downforce to play with, esp. in the front, compared to other cars. This makes it an Indy natural, but it's a blast on any other track as well.

Highly reccommended!

Ah, well I've seen the Black one you speak of in events I run. I only have the regular GT 40 RC (60s ear), Ford GT 05-06 and the GT LM Spec II.

Hands down the LM Spec II is the best out of what I own, and I smoked the Black GT you speak of in all the races it was in.

I have both the test & race cars. Here's the stats according to mygranturismo.com

Test- 601BHP, 1165kg, 736nm & 633pp
Race-629BHP, 1130kg, 740nm & 635pp

I always use the test just for the sweet cockpit view & i always thought it was faster :confused:

My Ford GT Spec II Race Car has 826BHP, what's the BHP for the LM Ford GT?:sly:

The regular Ford GT Road Car has 870BHP fully tuned but don't think it have any chance against the Test Car.
Even on tracks like Sarthe where the track is about 80% straights.
 
Any colour so long as its black. The Ford GT LM spec ii test car is the fastest ford in the game. It's close to the Ford GT LM spec ii race car but generates much nicer lap times. Premium is also a bonus so yeah don't hesitate spending it.
 
If your just interested in grinding Indy with a premium car then your better off using the Corvette ZR1 RM because it's faster than both of the GT's. The GT is worth getting though and it's great fun but not the fastest car for grinding that race.
 
Interesting. I have the vette as well (haven't driven it much) but is it as brilliant in corners as the GT? One thing I like about the Ford is that it flies so easily through the corners of Indy without so much as lifting off the gas. Just the right amount of cornering without effort. As opposed to the X2010 which I hate :(. I don't like that car at all and hate how insanely it corners/does not behave like a car. You sneeze and you're flying off the track. Too tense to go over and over for me.

But back to the original question--does the vette give a similar ease of driving for the grind?
 
You have to increase the downforce on the Vette to be able to take the Indy corners flat out. That's all you need to do. I run laps 1-1.5 seconds faster with it than either of the Ford GT's.
 
The Corvette is somewhat more powerful, but GT's massive downforce (esp. fornt) make it faster around most tracks. On Indy, maybe it's not faster, but more comfortable to drive.
 
No its the same as the spec II race car.
