Did PD show favoritism to Ferrari?

..and to say a Ferrari or a GT comes with N2 tires is absurd! S2 or maybe S3 tires is more like it. We are talking about the baddest cars in the world, not Escort's or Sentra's.

You can easily find some RL F430 owners who are complaining regarding how stock tires are not up to car's actual performance. Same has happened with F430 Scuderia.

On the other side, Ford shipped GT with top-perfomance tires. That is the main point in comparing the stock models.

yeah the ferrari's PP's are too much, in the 650PP at fuji, I can have any car at 650 best setting for my style, and no matter what I am always passed by the ferrari, corner, straight, braking, but if im in a ferrari also its a complete piece of piss to win. I'm no slouch either I have held track records in Pro/simulation settings for a few cars

and yes the PP system needs re working, same with the staggered starts, (rolling starts, if you are last to cross the line all the cars are going thru the left right right and into hairpin @ fuji before you even get to the first corner, and thats also another reason the PP system is broken, if we all have the same PP's why is there a "staggered rolling start" to make the racing interesting, I wont race in any rolling starts anymore unless its fixed, I dunno why Pdigital didn't just put standing starts for it all. and why they took flat shifting off.

also a few weird things have happened like before starting the race, my car spins out, or overtakes people before the racing is started its quite funny but frustrating

Yeah I think PD needs to refine the PP system. They should base it on not just like power, torque, weight and tire level, but things like the cars actual max cornering force, best recorded slalom speed, 0-60, 0-100, 0-max speed, max speed, etc.

Heck, they should get rid of PP system entirely ... I said it before and I say it again it's the worst thing ever happened to GT series! I want to drive my cars at full and most available power, I 'm just watching 24h Nuerburgring... no mention of a pp system lol . Why not just a power/ weight ratio limit for online - racing, that would be fair and square at least.

Earth, Kazinori owns two Ford GT's, as he has said in interviews it is one of his favourite cars. There is also a specially created Ford GTLM, its quite clear that the Ford GT is a PD favourite. I can't see any grounds for this favouritism claim.

I initially suspected the GTR was subject to favouritism by PD, however I have since changed my mind.

The PP system is borked in general, so its not surprising the PP's don't match perfectly.

1 second faster at Top Gear Track
3 seconds faster at 13 mile Nurburgring
1.4 seconds slower at Hockenheim short track
2.5 seconds slower at Vairano Handling Track
1 second slower at Oschersleben
1.5 seconds faster at Zolder

Then it appears to handle better in the wet

To me it seems like a slight advantage to the Ford GT.

In GT5 the Time Trials suggest the Ferrari F430 is on average 2 seconds slower at most tracks in GT5P.

However, these Time Trials used incorrect Ford GT weight. The real Ford GT weighs 70kgs more then the one in the game. I estimate 70kgs to be worth around 1 second, or slightly more.

That means in GT5P, the Ford GT, with proper weight, is around 1 second faster per lap then the Ferrari F430, which seems about right, almost perfect.

However, there is two problems

1. Some have raised concerns that the Ferrari F430's real tires are equal to N3 tires while the Ford GT has S1 tires.

2. Even at 1521 kgs, the stock Ford GT has 18 more pp then the stock Ferrari F430. Is 18pp worth just 1 second? 18pp = 210kgs.

I still haven't gotten around to doing testing, but once I do it will be thorough.

Okay. A couple of broken test sessions within few days gave me a good impression of what the Ford GT really can offer against the F430.
I used professionally S1 tires under both (stock) cars, all aids off exept ABS at 1, and added the extra weight to the american beast.
My results:

Ferrari F430 ´06: 2'14.723

Ford GT ´06: 2'12.769

(Perhaps it was just me but "the click" between me and F430 just wasn't there within those about ten clear laps. But the Ford GT made my day!)

Thanks. This was at Suzuka?

Sorry, yes it was at Suzuka, and you are welcome. :)
By the way, something strange occured to me during the session but I'll show it later...

The GT has a much smoother powerband than the F430, thus it is alot easier to get the power to the ground.

The best comparison I could come up with, and It was all I kept thinking while driving the GT, is the F430 is like a 2-stroke motorcycle and the GT is like a 4-stroke. Power output is similar, but the delivery is totally different.

All Online Records added together gets me this:

Ford GT: 15'23.838
Ferrari F430: 15'42.016

looks like PD got it pretty right after all...

This is a bit off topic but this happened during one of the sessions:

Something's not right

I think that this game offers best simulation when using cockpit view, clutch and ABS 0.Are any of these comparisons made by that setting??Probably not.Just like any other opinions in here when talking about how one car behaves.Where are those who use settings that make this game feel 'real'.And best.
