Hm, BJahalt88 , which engine and gearbox do the car you suggest have? There's some alternative in the OP but nothing who says which one of them you suggest.. :)

In Brazil the Maverick have a 2.3-litre Inline-4 engine, a 3-litre Inline-6 and a 5-litre (a.k.a. small block in USA) V8 engine (detail: This engine was built and distributed to Ford do Brasil by Ford Canada). It's a very popular car in Brazil, very used in drag races.
 
heres my 70. i swapped in a 302 and cruise it on nice days. open headers is fun lol
