Which body style of the original Mustang would you like to see in the game?

HUGE omission from GT6, the original Ford Mustang. Yes, there's the Shelby version but I think many of us would like to see an even earlier version.

These early models came with engines varying from 2.9 liter Inline 6 to Windsor 4.7 liter 4-barrel V8s making 271 bhp.

Convertible, only so I could (hopefully) drive the car with the top down and listen to the song "Mustang Sally".

Can you please be more specific to one model? :) Hard Top Coupe seems to be the one you want most but which engine?

A car this significant should be in the game in all three body styles. As far as engines go, as this is a driving game and we don't have to worry about fuel consumption the highest performance engine option is the logical one to pick.

I agree they should add all three, but I also put the poll on there so there's some idea on the most popular - which looks like most people would go with the fastback. Actually it would be my first choice too personally, kinda surprised I didn't take the time to specifically get a picture of a fastback, maybe I'll do that real quick...

*Done.

That's what the threads are for and the very reason we say to be specific with your threads. People will vote for the most popular one by liking the thread and so everyone can see which is the most popular from the forum itself.

Please resolve your thread to just the one body style. Feel free to make threads for the others if you wish, assuming they do not already exist.

We already have a fastback Mustang - the Shelby GT350 in the game. If this car was added in Notchback Saloon form it would enable recreation of classic saloon car racing such as BSCC, ETCC and the equivalent from South Africa, Australia and New Zealand etc. The title does need amending however as this suggestion does not specify the bodystyle or the generation.

Below - the Australian Neptune Racing Team ran a Mini, Cortina and Mustang.

The Alan Mann racing team prepared a relatively large number of Mustangs for rallying and when they had completed the rallies specified by Ford Roy Pierpoint took his example to the BSCC title in 1965. That year Jack Brabham and Sir Gawaine Baillie provided the main opposition - also in Mustangs.

Below - in colour 42 the winning BSCC Mustang of Roy Pierpoint in 1965 next to Sir Gawaine Baillies Mustang and Jim Clarks Ford Cortina Lotus. Below in black and white before the start of one of the long distance rounds of the ETCC.

Above Mustangs dominate the field in pre-66 classic events such as the Solverstone Classic - here battling Jaguar Mark 2's, Ford Falcons and Galaxies.

Mustang was raced in Lucky Strike colours in South Africa.
