Given that the new TDI is supposedly rated at 140+ BHP and should be getting nearly the same fuel mileage as the outgoing model, I would at least 42 MPG on the highway, maybe as high as 45+ if they get the tune right...
I'm still waiting for our local Ford to officially announce the Focus Diesel. My sales agent has been saying for the past few months that it's been greenlighted for local sale, but Ford isn't even putting teasers out...
Mark II Focus body... 2 liter Turbo-diesel with anywhere between 135-165 hp (it's a hope... the old 135hp one wasn't as sophisticated as current Ford Duratorqs... now with VGT! and you could still "chip" it for 160), over 300 ft-lbs of torque and a possible 6-speed stick shift.
It's probably the closest a bloke like me can get to owning an Audi or BMW diesel (way overpriced here...)
Yes, I'm excited. Even if it's out of my price range, I'm going to pull all kinds of strings to get one...
