Nah, s'not. Check out the relationship between the rear wheel (which is, no doubt, a 20inch or something similarly ridiculous) and the C-Pillar. It's miles away, and makes the necessarily-huge-wheel (because bigger is better, right kids?) look tiny.

I agree with this, but not only when it comes to this car. Many new cars have this problem of wheel-->meters of body panel--->pillar/trunk/window. It just looks so bad.

So I was just thinking...

Why doesnt Ford put a Mustang engine in the Taurus? You could draw all sorts of comparison between NASCAR, beating the M5 (Maybe), and all that jazz.

Wrong clientele. The SHO is more of a pseudo-luxury thing now.

It also probably wouldn't fit. Coyote is only a bit smaller than the 4.6, and that thing was hueg like xbawks; whereas the Cyclone V6 is just as small as the old Mondeo engine it replaced.

I thought thats what the "new" Lincoln was for. What car is the SHO competing with?

You really dont think it would fit? The Taurus seems massive, all around.

Its a nice thought since almost every other company has a larger RWD V8 sedan
BMW,Merc,Dodge/Chrys,Caddi, and now The Chevy SS due soon.

Not that the AWD V6 SHO Aint quick but there's a big fanbase for a big RWD sedan so a RWD Taurus would be appreciated by many people.

But knowing Ford and there so called forward thinking image they think they have i doubt they'll go trough the expense to build one because the current platform already
fits in well the way it is

Hyundai Genesis and Chrysler 300 buyers and the like. "Not quite luxury" people who want a big powerful car without spending 50 large. New Lincoln is so new that Ford haven't had the chance to properly rearrange their lineup yet.

The Taurus is big, but the Coyote would have to be put into it sideways like the current engine is because the platform was designed for transverse engiens. With how wide the Coyote is, I doubt it would fit; and that's assuming they could get the Coyote to work in a transverse layout.

The only other car that Ford put the modular engine in like that was the final Continental. For that, they had to redesign the block to fit in the engine bay and it still was a tight squeeze inside (to say nothing how the Continental was an even bigger car than the current Taurus, with a shorter wheelbase to boot).
