Looks like some kinda death chair! :ill:

But looks amazing in the video... jesus when that guy crashed at the end it looked like the whole rig was going to fall over!!!

Does it come with an HANS device?
I don't want a basel skull fracture when I stop dead from hitting a wall.
Looks a bit violent to me.

I'm wondering what happens when the aahh 'adult entertainment' people see this thing...

And it's so reasonably priced as well... 👍

Impressive, but you probably can't use it with the ps3 and GT5, unless PD programs the right force dynamics for it.

Want. If I were in my 30's - 40's and where I wanted to be, I'd definitely consider buying that, even at that price - it would provide amazing amounts of fun. But, please, it needs to be compatible with GT5, now that would be nice. By the way, does anyone have an idea what game that is? the vehicular audio is amazing.

The game is Richard Burns Rally

Thing is this thing could really cause you physical harm! :ill:

You could get whiplash like in a real accident, thats realism gone slightly too far...What if the coding messes up and it suddenly slams in a certain direction you could break your neck... not to mention getting your arms trapped in those hydraulic rams...

Cool but seriously dangerous. Rumble and FF is good enough for me!

That looks mad...but still, I agree with Robin. That could cause some seriousharm, they should at least have some sort of neck restraint device like the HANS device or something. And the base needs to be bolted down.

Imagine the headlines:
17 year old P plater dies in crash...playing his computer game
(referencing to how the media constantly sterotypes all young drivers as idiots)

There are seatbelts installed to keep you in place.
And reading the information it also has some sort of doors for safety.
+ it has an emergency stop, although i don't know how easy it is to reach it when the device starts to move around violently.

That is pretty nutso. Like the simulated lap of Bathurst that I did with Craig Lowndes some years ago in a gigantic sim machine (boy was that bruising!), only BETTER!

Really though, how far do you go for a 100 dollar game? I find the idea of shelling out 5 grand for a decent TV, PS3 and all the right cabling pretty hefty for a game like Gran Turismo, I sure as hell wouldn't blow 50K on a hydraulic seat, hehe.

Seriously, if I had that kind of money, I'd probably spend it on people less fortunate than I am. I'd get a lifetime of enjoyment giving that money away.

;)

Jesus christ... what a simulation. I wouldn't buy anything like that due to the possible seriousharm, but I should admit that it's the best simulation that I've seen in my life, so close to real driving, just a fan on the screen to feel the air in the cabin on the left window and a helmet, and you got the real thing

if your looking for a proper racing thing. You want a FREX Motion. It lets you feel G's in a more realistc way. Last time i checked cars didnt float in the air and dip that low...

The idea behind the large deflection angle is to use acceleration and the effects of gravity pulling from a direction other than straight down (from your frame of reference) to simulate the centrifugal g-forces you would feel in a race car.

For example, when you make a right turn, the seat tips to the left, so gravity pulls you against the left hand side of the frame, just like a hard right turn in a car will pull you against the left hand side of the car. To accomplish this, the angle of deflection needs to be greater than what the car's frame would be doing in real life. That's why it looks pretty exaggerated (especially under heavy braking... same effect).

It's not perfect, but it's as close as you can get with a fixed frame.

That pretty much just wobbles you around, hardly any g's. The force dynamic setup only throws you around so you feel more g's (closer to reality), if it was enclosed and without windows you wouldn't even sense you were being floated around, watching the screen will give you the impression you are really felling cornering g's (how racing car sims work that are often at events on the back of trucks).

*Edit* Vaxen beat me to it.

I think it would just be better to spend money on a kart or a used Honda to take to the track, than to have that thing filling up half your living room. Also, I wonder how long TVs last on that thing.

I have tested the 301 for about 1.5 hours and I must say that it feels very very real after a while. The brain just have to adjust. Then it feels amazing and really easy to drive. I'm faster in a F3000 (race07) at Anderstorp then at home with my computer. About 1 second faster just after 5 laps. It does feel natural, and you use your balance to "feel" the car instead of the FFB.
