Comes out later this month and i cant wait....

Bigger grid, more mechanics, more grid girls, more entertainment = more tension..

Better career, work your way up, new rules, 1 shot quali, no tyre changes, quali fuel = race fuel, the new drivers, the new rules, the new circuits, all new interactive pit stops.

its gonna be great!! lets hope the handling matches the features.

Review in a german game magazine :
Grafics : 78/100
Sound : 72/100
Fun/Overall : 81/100

Solid update, but not spectacular ; The AI however is better now...

as long as the AI is better then that is all that can be asked..

do you have any pictures from this review?

sounds like it, i have to say it is a bit dumb that they dont release it there, i think its more popular than they think

Cool, I've been wiaitng for this, F104 was way too glitchy and the AI was pretty horrid.

*waits patiently for a month*

It says only to be released in Europe, it's normally released in Australia as well, I hope this one it too :scared:

Does that not seem like a low review?

it does, but i think F1 games are seriously unerated even before that.....

blake, in F1 04 do you get too drive the formation laps?

i hope you can in F1 05..

Ok I just post some facts out of the review :
- Eye Toy Cameo feature (put your face in the game )
- nobody-to-worldchampion mode
- interactive pit stops
-19 courses ( Istanbul )
- no clutch, no nelm cockpit view and changeable tractionfunction anymore
-classic F1 cars as bonus
- 2 Pl. splitscreen
-online mode with headset support
- AI : more defensive, you won't be kicked off the track anymore (almost)

oo, eye toy, gotta get one, thatll be sweet...

and nobody too world champion mode sounds hot!

There is a cockpit view, however it's not from the inside of the helmet, it's like from the outside, the Gamespot screenshots show this -- it's just like the view from F1 2003.

what was the F1 04 career mode like?
It was pretty good, the races were short, about 1/4 distance, and it went for 5 seasons. It was fun but the lack of being able to do full length races in career mode killed it for me.

blake, in F1 04 do you get too drive the formation laps?
No, I hope you can in F105 though :)

Blake

I hope you can't win by over a minute in a Minardi in this one. I have on F104, all too many times.

Blake

dam, its hard to find a good F1 game that has realistic power in the cars, you always seem to be able to win in minardis, i hope the F1 05 is not one of these games and that you can do full length races because that sounds like a big thing too miss out on in F1 04...

it's about time i heard some news about this game, i mean we're halfway through the year already... can't wait to drive that Red Bull car for myself :sly: 👍

Oh you can do full length races, and full length seasons, it's just not in career mode, which is where you set up your own character and move up through the ranks.

Sorry if you misunderstood.

And the Minarid's are very underpowered, it's just that they can brake late and can corner pretty damn well :sly:

I mean I can lap 1'25 around Albert Park all day in a Jordan, 1'23-24 when the tyres get into their peak. Consistancy is the key ;)

I sure wish they would get a updated f1 game out in the US.

I'd like to drive all the new car's also.

did you move the difficulty up to maximum. it seemed almost impossible to keep up. espically at Brazil, I was 4-7 seconds off the pace when I dominated the previous season. it was just too damn hard(Brazil that is).

Yeah, difficulty maximum. And I agree about Brazil, I have trouble getting competetive pace out of any car there. Then again the opposite happens at circuits like China and Japan. I find Spain and Bahrain to be the tracks with the best competition, but not horribly fast like Brazil.

Blake

Spain was fun, espically when you hit your stride and stay there. for some reason, in the middle to the end of the race, all of a sudden I start pulling out laps 2-4 seconds quicker than the field and just blow by everyone. the only downside about Spain is that you can't fudge up anywhere or it will cost you a place, like F1 in real life I suppose.

Bahrain is just tough, I could remember going through that quick left hand turn at the end of that straight(after that funky double apex decreasing radius left turn) 125mph through there, the best I can manage is something like 90 or 100. I still have a tough time with that track, but it's a challenge.

my favourite track though, has to be Spa-Francorchamps. I LOVE that track. oh man that is the new Nurburgring Nordschleife in the F1 callender. just the feeling you get from racing it, it's not a "mechanical" feeling like you get from other tracks. I'm not sure what it is about it, but I prefer it and look foward to watching it every year and racing it in my game. oopp, F1 qualifying is on. see ya.

whats the presentation in it like, because i have F1 2001 by scee and it has the full thing, the floating letters and music forming FIA formula one world championship, run down of the grid with the formation lap in the background, circuit map with intermediates and speed traps labeled, is it like this in F1 04?

umm, I'm not sure. you have a full race weekend. practice (friday and saturday), 4 of those I belive. 1 qualifying session that consist of 2 flying lap sessions(warm up lap, then flying lap, the first is for position for qualifying, next flying lap is for grip position). then you race. it shows a still map of the track while loading, then your in your F1 car waiting for the light to go green. you actually have to press the clutch button and release it when the light goes green. also, you can adjust brake bias and traction control in the middle of the race through the d-pad. left and right I belive is TC and up and down is brake bias. you have 3 setting to choose from on both TC and brake bias. it is pretty fun as long as you keep the aids off, other wise the game is just way to easy. and if you want(I do it from time to time) start dead last and work your way up to 1st in just a 10 lap or so sprint. it has realy damage and you lose parts of the car very easily(if you glance a wal or another car, etc.) but the penalty system seems very random, I don't like it. it not that I don't like the penalties themselves, it's just I'm never sure what the computer will think is a penalty and what isn't, it's insane(penalty system).

BTW, Blake, what's the quickest you can manage at Imola and Monaco? I managed a low 1.15.xxx I belive at Imola and a 1.11.xxx or 1.10.xxx. I'm not exactly sure about that one, but it was below 1.12.xxx I know that. just interested in what other times people are getting. all those are done in the Renault R24 this current season that I'm in. that's all I can remember, but yea, I'm excited about the new F1, can't wait. I'm in the U.S. BTW, so I had to import the damn game which took forever and accidentally got two of them, so if anone wants to buy a used copy of F104, PM me. for price and everything.

Hello. I am new to these forums. I hope I will be able to get PS2 game info. from this source; specifically Formula1 game updates. When is F1 '05 to be released? And I am in Canada, so will the game be available here?

Thanks

- Momo

BTW...Canadian Grand Prix in about 10 hours :)
