Formula 1 2005

they reallllllllllllllllllllllly need to start releasing this game in NA. hell even japan would be fine as i have a modded ps2 to play it. no chance of getting a pal tv here thought.

they did release F1 04 in Japan. you wouldn't be able to tell what the messages sent to you are saying though. those are very important since they tell you is you are hired/fired, promoted/demoted, and tells you about upcoming test sessions. I would spend some money on a decent TV tuner card that allows switching between PAL and NTCS and play it through that. that way you cn play it in color and everything, even though you will be using your computer as a TV.

ill have to check into that, any idea on the price for a decent one?

Depending on the modchip you have it also might convert PAL to NTSC. I know DMS and Matrix chips do that. Mine can´t though. :(

ummm, I'm not so sure. I tink maybe like $50. I'm not really sure. just call up to your local best buy or circuit city, or gamestore.

lol, its getting me more excited for F1 2005, the only snag i have is you cant use the D pad on any controller layout...

i hope thats sorted for the 2005 version

I like that, I am so used to the analouge stick now. Plus it increases the number of controls you can have 👍

dam, nice, hows the handling? is it twitchy? and how are the graphics?

p.s. how did you get a review copy?

Hey, signed up today to forum (28th June), always loved GT from the first to the one now. Used the analog sticks for ages, but find Williams F1 Force Feedback wheel far more fun and a new experience on the game. Never played on a " Official F1" game before so gonna buy F1 2005 when it comes out July 1st, hope its good tho...

I can't really compare it to anything that was previously on the PS2. I've only been playing PC F1 games before this. You just have to learn how to modulate your acceleration. the cars don't feel twitchy to me but I do tune my cars towards slight understeer so I don't really have too many problems with spins unless one of my wheels finds its way onto the grass or something when I'm braking or on a fast turn. I use the DFP and I like the slight heavy feel (gives decent feedback). Each car seems to handle differently. Each car also sounds different. Graphics are good, nothing special. There is some slowdown during the races, especially while I'm braking or accelerating and there are other cars round me.

sounds good, F1 04 and 03 where really twitchy so this sounds like it has changed nicely.

i get the williams wheel on friday:D

How is the Williams wheel?

The force feedback is great and judders nicley for rally games, for GT the wheel can be set tight and responsive so its easier to drive and more controllable for tracks such as the high speed ring, while it can be set looser and less responsive where accuracy is requred (the wheel must be turned more). This can all be changed while the game is paused via the screens. The stopwatch feature is pointless, but looks good lol. The LED lights to display throttle also look good, but dont serve any majour purpose.

Takes a while to get used to a wheel but now i can do Suzuka Circuit in 1:54 with woodone supra.

Im impressed with the wheel, its good if, like me, you enjoy F1. :)

There are two Williams F1 wheels available, the blue one and the black one. I went for the force feedback coz i was worried the other would feel dead and loose and im not keen on the blue and white look. Apart from the force feedback they r more or less same.

thats the one i fancy getting but il get the force feedback one, it has 12hr clock, 4 digit lcd stopwatch, accelerator indicator, butterfly paddle shift and stick shift, the wheel has quick release just as the real one does, non slip pedals and is an exact visual repllica of the FW23 wheel.

Not sure bout the 12hr clock (dosent exist basicly) and the "quick release function" is not quick at all. But still an awseome wheel, amoungst the best and it looks and feels like an F1 wheel. You get a nifty little bit that fits on the wheel and makes it into a display so u can put the "wheel part" on ur shelf or watever. Would be perfect with F1 2005... Would recommend it to anyone

Really, I find them both fine, F103 is bad with the analogue stick but F104 is great with it.

Ive been looking at some F1 2005 videos and F1 2004 an F1 2004 does look a bit twichy, with loads of corrections being made per turn. F1 2005 looks much smoother.

Im gonna buy it tommorow (1st july)

Yeh i should grab it aswell, i mean it is only $79.95 over here in EB. Normally it is $99.95, so now i have to wait until next wednesday, pay day
