let's make this here an f1 threat, great pics although i get the feeling that they differ a little from the actual f1's of 2004, the noses an backwings look a little odd, or maybe it's my imagination. i just hope they give us more than 2 different f1's in gt4, thought i saw pics of the tyrell 6-wheeler, any word on that? and it would be top notch to have a couple of late-eighties f1's, or a 60's one like jackie stewart drove in the beginning (without wings) and then scream over the nurburgring track... how nostalgic. or the villeneuve ferrari...

As long as this thread is used to find out which car the PD F1 is supposed to be, fine by me, but it better not stray off topic.

those moderators are a pain in the ***, f1 threads are about f1 and everything that comes with it hombre...

My job is to moderate, and if you're not happy with it, the door's there.

With the number of threads regarding F1 cars lately, I was inches from closing this one too. But I didn't, instead I thought we could try to identify which car it's supposed to look like... What's so hard about that?

Bwaaahahahahahahahaaa..

Go tell the Duke that

I can't believe it - Me and SS (from way back) are getting 0wn3d by GT4 fans who doesn't even have the game.. 0rs3m3 !.....

The sidepods and bodywork around in the radiators looks like it is off a fairly recent F1 machine. The front wings look like they did a couple of years ago, ala the F2000 or a MP-16. The rear wings are........... :yuck:

ouch, yes sir, the laws will be respected sir!
lighten up a bit please

i wonder if they had to pay rights to make the car like it's real-life counterpart?
those f1 rulers are greedy sons of b****s, otherwise it's kind of stupid to make their own fantasy f1's whereas the f1's in gt3 were based on the original chassis i think. (polyphony 002 is the 88' ayrton senna mc-laren)...

any word on different f1 cars yet? hope we don't have to compete in f1 races with only 2 different cars, that's probably why they use different colour schemes.

I don'T know about the whole F1 car issue. We want a GT game and i say again GT not F1 simulator not pick up truck simulator, but GT driving simulator, take all those crusty coppens and capuccinos out and add some real GT cars, they missed so many sweet historical cars and instead they added fake F1 cars and cheap slow super-mini cars! Give me a break PD they are SO trying to sell the japanese market autos!

damn... just came
Did you have a towel? Sorry couldnt resist.
Those are some nice pics of the F1 cars. There is another one by the grand canyon that looks nice.

aha but there aren't any good new f1 games so this must be the closest thing...
indeed they rather put in 20 daihatsu's and 40 versions of the same car than some nostalgic racers that cry for attention. but still we would be boneheads to complain when this game is clearly a stunner.

The GT series is about simulating a real DRIVING experience, not about GT cars. There are all ready a good deal of GT cars in the game.

The only reason for that ust be that PD doesn't have licenses for F1 cars so they just made their own ;)

licences for the older 'museum' f1's must be easier to get, i'd rather have them putting 60's-70's-80's formula 1's than some fantasy 2004 rip-off.
but they thought the masses would be more satisfied with a mickey-mouse 04' car...

just hope that 94' williams looks identical, they use the right name so they must have the rights. it be spooky though to drive the car that killed the greatest driver of all time.

Sony has the license for F1 games and we all know who owns PD :)
Lets hope we in Europe also get many different F1 cars unlike in GT3 when most of them were removed...
The side pods looks alot like the Ferrari F2003-GA, the front wing mounting looks like the one from the Renault R23, also a car from 2003.

Did anyone else notice the Toyota Takoma? In another thread I seen a Dodge Ram..........are we going to have truck racing?

There are special events for Trucks and SUV's

I don't know how it works in GT4 but all GT3 F1s were based on real F1. The codes gave you the info. Eg.

F090/s = F1, 10 cylinder, 1990, Senna car (which is obviously McLaren MP4-5)
F688/s = F1, 6 cylinder (turbo), 1988, Senna car (which is obviously McLaren MP4-4)

etc.

Pictures I have seen shows recent models based on bodywork. It is F1, not CART (you sinner!). I am not going to bother but you could probably make it out based on the front nose to front wing attachment. > I am quite positive that the F1 with arc'd front wing attachment is 2004 Renault 'Mild Seven' F1 R24

My wish is to see pre-1968 F1s which have no aerodynamic 'downforce'. You have not seen scary until you have driven 1967 F1s through Spa's Masta at 180mph with no downforce. Any GPL fans around?

I totally undersatand you, because that's my wish too. I love GPL, even though it's already an old game it's still my favourite F1 sumulator by far.

I'd love to have more cassic F1s in the GT series but I'm already happy with all the racing legends that have been included in GT4, off course I hope PD keeps adding them in future GTs.

Bye bye :scared:

P.S: This is my first post here, I'm so happy, I guess :dunce:
BTW, excuse my English.

. . . but I'm already happy with all the racing legends that have been included in GT4 . . .

You said it. Now we have GT open cockpit prototypes, M3 GTR, Nurburgring, de la Sarthe, Suzuka, etc. I cannot ask for more. Actually, I can. Spa, Wat-Glen, Mosport, go-karts, FIA GT Sports cars, a Minardi, and certain F-Italian brand not represented in any GT series.

Go-karts, that would be GREAT!!, I never thought about it.

Driving a Ferrari in a GT game or any other of the great Italian makers' car (or a Porsche 917) is a dream that I think every GT fan share, but a Minardi  I don't think so.

Hasta pronto.
