The cancellation* of two Grand Prix due to Donald Trump's random war Epstein Files distraction is followed by a race in his nation for some reason but the season restarts after the 5 week break in Miami - a circuit built around a Stadium which will soon host FIFA World Cup matches. Formula 1 has decided to react to criticisms of the 2026 Power Unit regulations with a bunch of reasonable changes to try and combat some of the detrimental or dangerous characteristics of the deployment and regeneration to bring some spectacle back to the sport. More substantial changes were not really practical without all cars having serious redesigns, so this will likely have to survive for the season before more changes in 2027. However, that shouldn't detract from this event. An extra 30 minutes have been added to the one and only Practice session to give teams a chance to test the new regulation changes as this is a Sprint weekend too. F2 has joined the support bill, so who will come out on top at the MIAMI GRAND PRIX!

Can't wait for this race weekend after a forced long break. Hoping for a great performance from Lewis who I believe had a great time with Kim during this break and should be in great mood to put in an excellent performance. Anything less than a podium would be disappointing.

Funny that the yellow, black, red, (+dark blue) is normally the Cadillac Racing Logo color combo and the base colors they were using in DPi and GT3 but then went away from that for F1. Had a bit hope for yellow and black cars like the DPi before they revealed their livery

Not certain of the rule elsewhere but the chance of severe weather could delay the race in Miami on Sunday. Thunderstorms in Florida in May, what are the chances?

Can someone tell me why the Aston is so seemingly awful this season? I thought Newey worked on it. I did hear that Aston kind of got screwed with the engine, as the people that they initially had in mind at Honda seemingly no longer work there.

You have the answer(s), ICE miserable low on power, generally the same mistakes like they did with McLaren now repeated with Newey. Instead of building a good engine and built a car around it Newey demanded a special format to fit in his unusual bodywork. All people at Honda who made one of or the best F1 engine for Red Bull before are gone (many to RBPT) or at other projects after they left F1.

Also unbeliavable to see how Aston Martin AMR26 from Alonso and Stroll are 1 second slower than Formula 2's best lap from Mari Boya.

AppleTV account is locked AGAIN!!!! WTF is going on here? Does anyone else have this problem? I haven't watched it since the last race but that shouldn't lock it out. What do they want you to do, log into it everyday to keep it active?

That was a brave move by Hadjar on Colapinto

Edit: 5 sec penalty for Antonelli, drops behind Russell and Verstappen

Impromptu break almost made me forget we had Miami this weekend. Ooh, Sprint Race.

McLaren seem to have unlocked some performance. I'm cautiously optimistic. Still have huge WDC and WCC deficits to make up.

Leclerc looked good.

The Mercs still have poor starts.

Max's Red Bull looks less miserable.

The sprint was meh, imo those races need to be longer with more points at stake. It’s weird that F2 did more laps in their sprint race.

A note:
Miami race has been moved up 3 hours and will start at 1 PM EDT/6 PM BDT due to the chance of severe weather.
Well at Miami there is a 250% chance for severe thunderstorm on Sunday. So its unsurprising to see they move up the schedule by three hours.
