Was shaping up for a tight finish, until Lando's McLaren went boom. Gutted for him, especially after topping the time sheets all weekend. Piastri was flawless.

Max's Red Bull had a lot less pace than I thought it would. Good to see Yuki get into the points.

Hadjar P3! Well done holding off Charles and George.

Albon quietly had a good race.

Nice points for Bearman and Ocon.

Both Astons in the points!

Was Russell basically saved by all of those SC? Remember he had damage from the Leclerc incident.

Sucks for Norris, definitely reminds me of Malaysia 2016. That said, I've been rooting for Piastri since the start of the season so, I'm not too unhappy with the recent developments. Let's see how Norris fights this to the end, assuming of course lady luck keeps smiling on Piastri and he doesn't suffer the same fate.

That aside, the race was, how should I say this, boring from a racing standpoint but quite eventful. Always nice to see a new face on the podium, really happy for Hadjar.

Never say never. Oscar may have an engine failure next week, who knows?

It’s just not fun to hope for a DNF for any driver.

EDIT: not true, forgot about Stroll.

Sainz penalty reasoning

Car 55 was attempting to overtake Car 30 on the outside of Turn 1. The front axle of Car 55 was not ahead of the front axle of Car 30 at the apex of Turn 1. Car 55 attempted to stay on the outside of Car 30 and a collision occurred. We considered that Car 30 had the right to the corner and therefore Car 55 was wholly or predominantly to blame for the collision.

Yep, the FIA clearly doesn't want wheel-to-wheel racing because that might be fun and what F1 fans want to see. What a joke these racing rules are turning out to be.

It's also not permitted. Have another read of the pinned thread in this forum.

Nice one 👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘

Whereas Leclerc and Russell's wheel-to-wheel racing, however brief, was awesome.

Just watching the highlights now - that wobble for Max on Lap 1 was crazy 😅

It's a pity that Zandvoort is leaving F1 next year, it's a great and unique track.

No further action for the Leclerc/Russell inchident

Car 63 and Car 16 were involved in a collision at Turn 12. Car 63 had been ahead of Car 16 at Turn 11. Car 63 lost the position to Car 16 at the exit of Turn 12. We investigated, with the benefit of the driving standards guidelines, whether either driver should have done something different. We also looked into whether Car 16 remained on the track or left the track at Turn 12. The available evidence was inconclusive as to whether Car 16 left the track. Both team representatives were in agreement that there was no clear evidence that Car 16 had left the track.

Both drivers felt that this was a racing incident and that there should be no further consequence to either driver for the incident. We reviewed all the available evidence and arrived at the same conclusion.

We accordingly took no further action.

So he did in fact slow but didnt slow down enough based on a set amount that isnt written down, and is just their opinion.:dunce:

The race was classic. Everyone (I mean everyone) was buzzing for isaac.

The race finished before 5pm euro time

My hotel is 39 mins away

I didn't get back until after 10pm, 😭😭😭😭 crap organisation

Still no idea why Carlos got the 10sec penalty

On one hand, I've been a McLaren fan since the mid 1980s so seeing them dominate again pleases me to no end and I hope Piastri wins it all, but on the other hand Norris has been there so long I kinda feel bad he's not the one benefiting from it. In the end I guess Orange car good and Red car bad is just what I want, no matter who's on top.

Excellent race from Hadjar, and a surprising sunday from Stroll managing to stay out of trouble and score points as well.

That's...genuinely surprising. It's very rare that the FIA willingly admits they made the wrong call. I'm very happy for Carlos and Williams on this one.

Now, all the FIA need to do is either review or remove the rule that caused this (and Bearmans penalty at Monza) in the first place.
