So this time instead of RBR messing up a pit stop their driver does it for them...cool
 
Poor Max. Lost out on those pits.

Really nice when you can race a guy like that and not fear for your wing. Good job from both Max and Kimi.

Question about the start... Why is pole on the outside? I dunno if it's just me or is pole normally on the inside going into turn 1 so the pole sitter can defend.

I'd say because it's the racing line for when going into turn 1

I doubt it. He seems just a few tenths slow... if he were a second slower, Merc might move him over.

I mean, they might attempt to, whether he would comply is anyone's guess.

Yes you can inform your driver about competitors and times, but can't tell them where they need to pick up pace and so on.

EDIT: boys might want to contain your excitement the mercs pace just shot up the 1.26 flat, thus unless Ric can go 1.25.6 he wont be catching any longer.
 
Zero overtakes so far barring the first corners jostling.
 
Mercs are now matching or doing better pace than DR, the Mercs are set up to be very conservative early on with the Softs, which is why they were heavily tested in pre season.

The track needs a longer straight. 0.4 second behind someone at the beginning and still impossible to overtake at the end.
