I don't know what people are worried about, as long as they can get the physics done at least as good as in current gen F1 games and add a few more little features in it will be great. :D Graphics don't concern me too much, the current gen looks good enough for me so PS3 should be great. 👍

Well, even if it is not rendered... the point is that you won't actually play the game with these grafics, maybe the PS3 can do these grafics but not with interaction...

Time will tell, Max_DC. But you sound very convinced about the workings of of both hardware and software that still has to be finished. Now that's risky!

The F1 demo did not look that spectacular to me, if the PS3 can't do that realtime in a gmae then the PS3's utter crap for a next gen console. Ofcourse the PS3 can do that realtime though.

I'll be happy with anything they come up with, as long as the AI is as close to reality as possible. On the other hand, that would also mean boring races... :indiff:

My theory is that it was developed on a beta kit, the same that Killzone PS3 was made on, and the footage had to be sped up, hence the awkward speed and movement.

But I am positive that PS3 is capable of that, period. There is nothing in that trailer that is AMAZINGLY UNBELIEVABLE.

Max_DC. Stop making claims you know nothing about :)

I was wondering how many racing games have surpassed the graphical quality of Gran Turismo 4 ? As far as I'm concerned , Motor storm , Formula one , PGR 3. Anyone disagree ??

I'd add HL2, BF2, Doom 3(might not look that realistic but the lighting is great) and RalliSport challenge 2 among plenty of others(Lighting on the cars doesn't look as realistic, but the scenery is far far better and the sounds and damage are great). GT4 is simply the best the PS2 can do.

He was speaking specifically about racing games, but I'd agree with your list as far as overall visual quality.

Though I wouldn't compare PC to consoles as it's not fair with current gen technology.

To add, I do not think that GT4 is the best looking game on PS2. I would beg to differ that Tekken 5, and the soon to be released Soul Calibur III and King Kong look better than GT4 overall. As far as I'm concerned, it's not the realism that counts, but the animation and such. Tekken 5 has outstanding facial animations, awesome textures, great lighting, and wonderful colorful level design. SC3 looks to be all of the same. While King Kong looks to be one of the most visually impressive games I've ever seen on PS2. Also, Shadow of the Colossus looks amazing as well, it's smooth as butter with wonderful character design etc.

I would hope so since those are all next gen! :)

I only meant racers on the next-gen consoles , so PC's FPS don't count here. The closest to release game that might top GT4 in the graphics category is probably PGR 3 for the xbug 360. That game has the most realistic textures but I'm not sure about car models though.
