After watching the PSP new intro video, i saw a F1 car racing across which was not the ferrari, could it be possibly another big announcement that F1 has been put into the game also?

What are your thoughts?

I personally think if PD had f1 it would be such a great selling point and the graphics and physics would be out of this world..

More F1 cars from other teams is possible. But anything included in GT5 cannot be referred to as "Formula 1". In other words, they can't have a "F1 World Championship" in the game because the FOM has sold the license to Codemasters for the time being.

But the circuits, sponsors and teams and cars can all make an appearance as they are all seperately licensed. Or at least I assume so, as thats the only way I can think how they got the F2007 in the games.

They said years ago they will license F1 cars, but most likely more classic ones "from Lotus for example".

The interview where Yamauchi said that is already over 2 years old, so who knows?
We already have the F2007, i doubt thats the only F1 we will see. :)

Yeah CodeMasters do have licensing but gosh i know they will just RUIN it, their graphics are always crap (DiRT 2) is half decent but yeah F1 and Codemasters do not go

F1 CE: was great for its time and i still enjoy playing it!

As you guys have said f1 cars may make a appearance, even if its not a world championship doesn't really matter, so long as you can race against other F1's would be excellent!

Well seeing that GTpsp has the Ferrari F1 and all the Polyphony Digital F1's, I guess it's safe to say we'd get something similar to GT4's f1 only championship in GT mode. It'd make sense at least since you can trade cars between both GTpsp & GT5!

We'll see ;)

I would much rather have a single F1 car from each era than all the F1 cars from a single era.

If that Lotus quote still holds true, I can't wait to fly around the track in a 49. I remember I used to love it in TOCA 3 because you could see the details of the engine and the thing in the back (ha ha, was it the differential?) even spun.

I can see just the 2007 Formula 1 cars that did well in that season (F2007, MP4-22, etc) and then classic champs of years past being in GT5.

No. NASCAR wasn't exclusive but I think the F1 license is exclusively held by Codemasters. I think it's likely that we'll get F1 cars from all the big manufacturers such as BMW, McLaren, Ferrari (of course), Renault, Lotus etc., but I doubt getting cars from smaller race teams like Williams, Red Bull, Force India, Jordan, Benetton, but I'd love to be proved wrong!

I don't see no reason why they can't include F1 tracks and cars for the period sony owned the F1 license (upto and including 2007).

They may not be able to use the F1 trade mark when they release or have to state F1 2007, but they had access to all the data etc for that period.

I suppose it depends on the contract with the F1 rights people, I hope it just states you can have access to everything for the period of license, but doesn't restrict sale or use of the logos, cars and tracks only for this period.

Also commentary is licensed by a seperate organisation, so in theory you could have martin brundle commentary for any year.

I'm for one am keeping fingers and toes crossed to hope f1 makes it, for at least all cars and teams in 2007 as a minimum!

GTMobile only has the F2007. And no, there will be no F1 cars in GT5, no modern ones, of course.

Isn't that why we have specific F1 games? But it would be great to have the F2008 or even F60 in GT5. :)

It would, but as long as Codemasters has the license, that's not happening. SUMO Studios can't even make a good game on the PSP, ToCA 3 sucked, and now this will suck too, but I hope not.

^Erm, yes they can use the latest Ferrari's. They just license them off Ferrari.

The series seriously is missing out not using the early Grand Prix cars. Screw having the latest Ferrari's. What about the 50's, 60's and 70's cars? They would be far more interesting to drive.
Even the earlier era of aerodynamics from the 70s and 80s would be more interesting to drive. Some turbo-era cars are a must!

Having the Nurburgring but no Stirling Moss Lotus 18 to race around it is a big loss in my opinion.

McLaren MP4/4 would be a dream to pilot around Monaco, in the wet :D, and some of those turbo cars as well, the ground effect F1's too, like the Brabham BT46B, and hopefully PD will make the fans work, unlike the Chapparal 2J in GT4

Realisticly if there are F1 cars in the game they should be so completely un drivable in comparison with the core cars that it would loose a lot of the fun (unless you wack on all the driver aids)

Much as I'd love to see a few more F1 cars in the game (particularly from last season before they went and made them all ugly) The best I can see happening would be some historic cars (Would love to be able to buy/win the John Player Special).

For F1 I think a dedicated game would be a lot better than including it in GT, unless it was included properly (which it cant be given PD havent got the license).

Seeing as there's supposedly interactivity between GTM and GT5, your two statements would seem to be at odds with each other. If the F2007 is in GTM (and it was in GT5P) then it should automatically be in GT5 also.

I hope there is still a Ferrari Formula one car for Time Trials, but I think that including the old F1 cars is a better option because the "new" cars change every year and it's too much work to update them all...

Dont forget some Lotus 79s with the Johnny Player Special livery :D I loved that livery... looked slick as hell on the track.. 👍

Cool, yeah I knew PD will include F1 but OLDER designs. I don't care, the good old' days were good. So I am not dissapointed the NEW seasons wont make it..

Besides, when I raced F1 in GT4 in GT mode, I used it for B specs.. So I care less ; ) I would prefer to tune out a Civic ( I hate those cars) and drive it around to earn some money!

Yeah man a think it will do, they already give us the ferrari and I dont think if it was nascar and wrc they gunna give us 1 random F1 car ;)

I meant modern as in 2009 and beyond.

Of course. "Modern" to mean "current and future". How silly of me.

Even without a liscence as you say surely the manufacturer's liscensed in the game can provide their F1 cars such as Ferrari eg. BMW, McLaren, Renault etc Even if we just had those 4 it'd eb enough for me, I love the F2007 in GT5P
