Current Sponsor Battle:

Red Bull: 40
Monster: 0

With 4 races left in this season the points battle could change.

Well, it's nice that every car made it through turn one but...
Oh, come on you got to be 🤬 kidding me! I had that race won those last ten laps and my Ai decides to put with one to go?!? I had a 20+ second lead over @AJHG1000! Who cares that I didn't have a front wing; less drag=more speed! Why couldn't my Ai pull a @BKGlover and not put until the next next lap? I can't win a race worth a 🤬!

Sorry. Really I am. I had to get that all out because that was Season 1 Monaco all over again. Couldn't even get a podium from it. Both @Peasantslayer and @pezzarinho17 also has strong cars and I though that Peasantslayer had it won

Good job to fellow Mexican @AJHG1000 on winning, lasted long enough to steal that win, as well as to @swiftsmith for a great result after a poor start to his season
All-in-all, no point in complaining. On to Spa I guess :indiff:

I... uhhh...

What?

Ok

Having seen what should have been an epic battle between myself and Peasantslayer ending with us both Gearbox deep into backmarkers, can I suggest the following be given a look please @Earth?

http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/making-the-ai-more-realistic.65923/#post-1388733

The championship looks incredibly close again now with Aaror in second, but I have more fears over finishing races now than I do about what competitors are able to do setup wise!

I can't really say much else, everything looked to be going very well up to that point. Whether strategy choice would have given us the win, we can't say but I would have loved to have seen the answer unravel properly!

Would be great if Earth could come up with a fix because we are at a stage where we are passing the cars at the back multiple times and it's meant I've DNFed here and pezzarinho17 has DNFed in the last 2 races, is there anything like the ghost system in GT games for cars that are about to be lapped?

As far as I am aware, there is no ghosting option as it is a simulator. I know that blue flags will appear though so it just a matter of getting the AI to react to them.

Yeah, I was wondering why they had no time, unless they all crossed the line same time as me, which is highly unlikely.

Theres no finish time for a few cars because the results arent available anywhere after leaving the race. I forgot to screenshot the final results and now I cant find the finishing times anywhere else. For whatever reason the points manager program I use gave really weird results for cars in those positions. Here you can see for yourself

There has been too many accidents this season. The average per car right now is 1 DNF per 4.1 races. I think 1 DNF per 5 races is acceptable but we're definitely below that. I'll add the blue flag option pezzarinho17 mentioned and I'll make the cars more resistant to damage, maybe as much as 50% stronger.

Also you may have noticed the next race isnt for another week. Theres a couple of reasons for that. Driveclub is releasing tomorrow so I'd like some free time for that, and I've gone pretty hard at it for 6 races straight now, and it is very time and energy consuming. So Im giving myself a week break to avoid burnout and to have a little fun with Driveclub, sort of like a vacation.

Not acceptable @Earth, putting yourself ahead of our championship! 🤬

Thanks for looking into the accidents, it's the racing we want to see after all. The ones in the midfield battles would be expected on occasion in motor racing, but to fear being too fast and catching backmarkers is a definite pain.

Enjoy the break, very much deserved!

I see what the program did. It rolled over into the hour, but didn't show it. So if my math is right(a good question to ask) then:

@Frizbe was + 1:00.4196
@RACECAR was + 1:07.7619
@Earth was + 1:10.8935

Well consider this the mid-season break. Let us know how Driveclub is.

The setup I sent you was for Spa BTW @Earth , in case you are confused, but being able to run this as well as you do you probably got it

I had a look at that blue flag fix last night and didn't actually get very far. I can get blue flags on my own car, but they don't appear to show to AI driven cars. However it might be that the blue flags are "shown" but the AI don't respond to them, even though part of the coding refers to blue flag penalties (whether they are on, how they are measured, and then how harshly they are penalised). After several searches, I'm left thinking this is a serious rFactor flaw rather than a series of options...

I agree to that too pez I ran a simulation once with 50 cars and I have also noticed that the ai's don't respond well to the blue flags.

Guessing the only solution would be to strengthen the cars themselves right?

At the cost of realism, yes... I do like the tension when fighting for position and the risk of damage. It would be a shame to null that because of a blue flag system in the software but not implemented (by ISI, not the users).

1st Place AJHG1000 FIS/Honda

YvuFldN.jpg

Q:
Are you surprised to pick up your first victory in Spain?

AJHG1000:
Yes, it's a no brainer, we were more worried about the people behind our car and the guy in front.

Q: What did you think about the last lap?

AJHG1000:
We feared we could lose our position.

Q: What are your plans to close the gap in points to the front and possibly win the championship?

AJHG1000:
Work hard to get the points that are within our reach.

Q: Do you feel you can you win again?

AJHG1000:
We hope so, but now we're aiming on getting big points, being on a Top 5 or in a Podium finish

2nd Place swiftsmith FIS/Porsche

tCtpzaB.jpg

Q: 2nd, but so close to actually winning. Are you disappointed at all or just relieved to be on the podium?

swiftsmith: Am I disappointed about getting a second place? No, I'm just relieved to have finnaly gotten a Podium.

Q: Now that you have your first podium, what is your next goal?

swiftsmtih: My next goal is to hopefully finally bring home a win for this new team. I have 4 more races,& Spa is by far my favorite.

Q: Your car seems to be getting quicker and quicker, any reason for that?

swiftsmith: Well we've been experimenting with new engine technology provided by Porsche & it seems to be working so far.

Q: Can you get another podium at Spa?

swiftsmith: As previously stated Spa is by far my favorite track on the schedule. Its also the second race for the Monster Energy Porsche. So I'd like to translate the late season success in the Red Bull into the Monster Energy car.

As an extra I'd like to thank Red Bull,& all the other sponsors on the car.

3rd Place aarror FIS/Ferrari

0Oa7ZDD.jpg

Q: Another podium that seemingly exceeds your expectations. This cant be just chance?

aarror:
As much as I would like to take credit, the past 2 podiums have been flukes. Yes I've been close enough to take advantage, but the results are certainly flattering the car.

Q: You're only 2 points behind the championship lead. Does your car have the speed it needs to take the lead in points and win this thing?

aarror: Not at the moment. I'll be making some drastic changes for Spa in an attempt to move back towards the front, but I was a full 2 seconds slower than title rivals Peasantslayer and Pezzarinho17 in Spain. It's going to take a bit of luck to reduce a gap that big.

Q: What is your thoughts about all the carnage we've seen so far this season with all the DNFs?

aarror:
It's been pretty crazy! It's tough to watch, because even with a huge lead you could be out at any time. It sucks that the title could be decided by who crashes the least, not who has the fastest car. On the flip side, it's given a few guys a chance to get some big results.

Q: Does Spa suit your car?

aarror:
Hah, at the moment nothing is suiting my car. I had my best race here last year, but I've already tried that setup and it didn't push me any closer to the front. I expect Optiongamers to be strong here, as it should suit the Ferrari engine.

12th Place MadFlavour FIS/Honda

f2Ov1fj.jpg

Q: This season seems to be a bit of a struggle for you, what exactly is going on?

MadFlavour: I honestly don't know, last season the team was running strong with similar setups but I guess we still have some R & D to perform in order to get the most out of the car this season. Hopefully at Spa things will change with a new type of setup.

Q: Do you feel your car has performed well in any race this season and if so which?

MadFlavour: Well, I'm not happy with the performance this year but everybody has their off days, didn't expect it to be the whole season though. Hopefully we can make progress at Spa, even a top 10 would be satisfying at this point.

Q: Do you think the season is lost or can you perhaps still pull off a podium or win?

MadFlavour: The championship was out of reach a long time ago, but there is still a chance of securing a podium if we play our cards right and hope that we don't get involved in the recklessness that has taken place the past few races.

Q: What are your plans for Spa to get more speed from the car?

MadFlavour: Precisely, we've gone with a less aerodynamic and softer setup this time as the circuit is quite a high speed one, the only real issue were worried about is being slower in the tighter sections of the course.

Garage #17: Team BKG

(clods of boots in a hurry)

BKG: ..... do you mean "Not Here"? I told them the fun was over on the 10th.

Personal Assistant: I mean what I said (clattering of door opening, sound of work....in the distance) THEY AREN'T HERE.

BKG: (Visibly angry) A phone.....now.

(P.A. hands their's over)

BKG: Good thinking. No offence, but they know better than to answer me when they know they're in it. Lets seeee.....

(Calling Car Chief...ring....ring...r-)

CC: Heey thur *hic* why are yu callun? Plenny off beer to spur!

BKG: Switch to coffee, because if YOU LAZY, DRUNK, 🤬 AREN'T HERE BY 2 O'CLOCK, ALL THE BEER IN THE WORLD WON'T SAVE YOU FROM ME!!!

CC: (Loud crashes heard, many swears) YES SIR! (Call Ended)

BKG: (to P.A.) Not the BEST way to get things done, but still affective, no?

(Hands phone calmly over, walks back toward team area, a bit of laughter heard as well)

P.A.: .....What did I sign up for again? I don't remember the part about my boss being borderline psychotic.

(END)

I was wondering what that noise was yesterday morning. Dude calm down it'll be okay. By the way you wake my team,& I up again like that you'll hear from my KAMIKAZE driver.

Wait, you weren't working? I knew your guys made it in, they said mine were somewhere in Germany. Earth was ready, just getting all the R&R he could, my team was MIA, yours (and who knows how many others) are nursing hangovers....Jahgee?

You think the noise was bad in the pitlane? Team pezzarinho17 are sharing the same motel - and baths apparently - as BKGlover.
