Formula E is currently developing a high-tech video game allowing users to experience the thrill of the Spark-Renault SRT_01E themselves and on a variety of formats including mobile devices. What's more, gamers will be able to play in real time with the actual Formula E race via a 'ghost car' giving them the ultimate trackside experience.

Maybe its a good time for FIA to focus all the research about electronics , energy assists and improvements and ecology-economy friendly rules on Formula E and let F1 loose.

Just something else that makes me think this series will do well!!!

The main issue I have currently is with the fan vote system though - please dear lord no, just get rid. I would love to think people will vote for those qualifying at the back of the grid, but it won't happen. And it means I have already seen drivers on twitter asking fans for their votes to be allowed some more power.... WHY? Why do you deserve a boost now when the cars are barely out of the box?

It might not be so bad if for example the voting system can only give up to a tenth or 2 in lap time and if everyone is receiving votes then the differences between cars will be very small, the only benefit I can see from it is that people will become more aware of Formula E because of 1000s of people spamming Twitter.

Becoming aware and becoming a fan are very different though - I'm very aware that there are products available which could enhance my manhood in 2 weeks, and I think even if I was looking for something then I would be put off by the fact it is spammed to me constantly!

So yes, boost social media coverage. I see very little produced by Formula 1's own pages whilst the teams are great for sharing information. Just make sure that it is the right coverage.

That would be the one way to get me to care about Formula E.

I'm curious as to how this game will work, will it be like the codemasters F1 games or something different?
I am also very interested in the physics, hopefully they can get sim-level physics into the game.

I quite like it - it looks like a good old-fashioned street circuit, with a simple layout and a variety of corner types.

So in other words, not boring.
It still is a street track though. Monaco has a variety of corners, yet that's quite boring to watch as it doesn't produce overtaking. Theres not a formula to make a good track but we'll just have to wait and see how this one does.

Is that a pit lane I see between turns 8 and 11? :odd:

I think that's partially attributable to Monaco being narrow.

This new track looks nice, doesn't guarantee it'll make good racing though.

Jerome d'Ambrosio has been confirmed as a driver for Dragon Racing, raising the current number of drivers with F1 racing experience to 8.
3 spots left, 3 (or basically 1) more opportunity for an American driver to join, China racing has yet to announce a driver.

Here is a recently posted article on motorsport.com on Formula E, looking at Formula E as a new beginning for motorsports:

Very well written article, I agreed completely with it.

Also, Forza has added the Formula E car as DLC.

I gotta admit the driving talent in this series makes the series right up there with the best series right from the get go, and even though the fan boost sounds like a gimmick it actually means they have to conserve the energy after they use it as everyone gets the same amount of battery life.

Only one more driver to fill at Andretti Formula E who will partner Franck Montagny. I am thinking a young English talent like Jack Hawksworth or Jordan King. I would like to see young British talent represented. Too many more established top name drivers like Nicolas Prost, Nelson Piquet, Bruno Senna and Lucas di Grassi.
