Hi im new :) i was woundering if i keep diving my f1 car alot on gt4 will it eventually lose horsepower and get slower? because my minolta toyota was 1200bhp now its only 1187 because i used it tons of times :nervous:

No, it won't.

ok but how come the minolta did?

Because with the Minolta you can change dirty oil for clean oil in GT Auto.
But the Formula Gran Turismo '04 can't go into GT Auto

has that answered your question? :)

The F1 is a special case.

ur minolta will lose power, but when u do the oil change, of course your hp will go up. Now ur talking about the F1. If you do the F1 races championship the milage goes up in other words ur HP will go down. Even doh u cannot do an oil change after the championship. You HP will go back up where it was before. So dont worry about the F1 car and its oil changes. I wouldnt think u have to worry about it for any "Special Cars". :)

I beleive he is talking about permanent hp loss that is not cureable by an oil change.

ur F1 will stay constant 904Hp and wont go down. Atleast mine doesnt

During the F1 championship the replay screen says 891 hp or sumtin like that. But I think thats just the replay doing its usual screw up of the horsepower.

what is up with the replay hp mess up. everytime i see the hp for my cars its just different every time.

I think that the replay shows the car's horsepower minus whatever the maximum percentage of decrease can be from oil degrading.

what I've come up with that seems the most logical is, the HP we see in our garage and stuff is measured at the flywheel. in the replays it is measured at the wheels. I think that is why the HP numbers vary on the replay and the gargae. sounds logical.

It sounds logical, doesn't it?

But it's not the case. It's just a screw-up. Set your units to PS and everything will be the same - garage, showroom, replay, settings, the lot.

jeeze, sorry. I don't bother with setting the units to metric measure because the metric systen screws me up.

I noticed this and thought maybe they were being really cute and were adjusting for the loss from higher altitude! Nyuk.

they're not bad you just have to get used to them.

Out of topic: they took the other thread in less than 7 minutes more like 1:lol:

A think the generally accepted rule of thumb is that "Wheel HP" is about 15% less than "Crank HP"...at least on street cars. Of course I'm not even going to pretend to know how much is lost on a carbon fiber drive train connected via a 5" clutch plate, but even at 10% loss, the 904 HP (if crank HP) would be around 820HP at the wheel vs. 891.

For proof of your concept, check out a VW Golf. It's been proven several times that the 180hp Golfs (US version) put down about 163HP to the wheels...or about a 10% diff. If you're seeing those kinds of % differences in the garage vs. replay, etc., then you may be right.

I don't see why Formula Gran Turismo can't go into GT Auto. Polyphony 001 was
allowed in GT3

Well...

It doesn't wear out so you don't need to change oil. It doesn't get dirty so you don't need to wash it. It can't have different wheels (three spokes on an F1 car?) and as for spoilers...

So there's no need for it to go in. PD just saves you the bother of four extra button presses to find this out.

Nice thinking Famine, i figured that out a while ago too. No need for F1 support! :) :)

yea I know it was about 15%, just I am lazy and it seems the HP loss differs from loss to loss, so I just didn't get out a calculator and actually try it. I am probably wrong, I just accepted it cause as I said, it seemed logical. stuff like the race cars loss always threw me off because I knew that was a much less(or more, on the LMP cars) horsepower loss difference then regular cars.

From the get-go people have been posting one word spam in this thread.

To make things easier, someone actually came in and answered the question from the thread starter.
