So lately I've been holding off attempting to complete this event because last time I was dusted in the first track and the first lap. I stayed in last place till the end and I just gave up. To me this is probably the hardest event I had to do. :nervous:

This is also the only event holding me back from obtaining that level 21 ticket (both specs) so I"m looking for any pointers that you guys might have; top speed settings, suspension settings, brake balance.

I could manage the throttle but I slip up occasionally since I"m using dual shock instead of the wheel. Last time I tried it felt like the AI was banking in those corners with full throttle. I attempted to do so resulting in me eating the guard rail. :P

I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

Edit: Should I also be using skids and aids on? I usually keep TCS on 1 (or 2) and ABS on 1. No skids or active steering.

It is a very tough Championship.
I had to tune my FGT to be a bit more Understeery. I spun out because the front cornered better than the rear (result: rear overtook the front => wasted).
First I did change Suspension etc and I did manage to decrease it, but it sometimes came back and I spun out again.
Then I had a Idea: Change the Downforce.
Well for now my FGT handles superb. Rear maximum and front 25-30 less (90 is rear => 60-65 at front).

I can now run consistant 1:15.5xx-9xx at Fuji plus I run them easily. (DS3 only Aid ABS=1 Racing Softs)

Addition: I did stiffen the Front springs more than the rear to get another little Understeer plus.

Thanks. i'm more of an understeer kind of guy too. Helps me practice finding a driving line to use. I believe I did leave out downforce settings but I just wished they had practice/qualifying laps instead of me having to guess settings on each track.

Skid recovery helps A LOT with the FGT. Also dont forget that you can now save your progress throughout the championship.

These take forever to do so I waited until the update came where you can save after. I attempted it not too long ago and I was doing pretty well, but the races are so long it's tough to keep focused the whole time. It was the last few laps on the first track and I was almost done than someone came in and started talking to me even tho I told them to go away and I couldn't hold it, crashed, lost, and walked away. One day they will be completed.

Keep some throttle in the turns, maybe a quarter, and the rear will corner as well as the front. This car has the most exaggerated MR throttle-off oversteer of any car in the game.

I was letting Bob use it to rack up some levels and money and decided to use it myself for the GTAllstars or Digital Cup (can't remember which) and I got introduced to the FGT in the rain. Corner after corner I spun. I was half a lap down to the leader at the end of the first lap. But eventually I sorted out how to use the throttle in the corners, and came back to win.

After that the FGT Championship was easy.

Theres no tire wear on it though right?

Oh yes there is. Some even pit for tires and fuel depending on how you drive on some of the tracks. By far the toughest A/B spec event.

Races so long? Wait till you get to do the endurance races like the Suzuka 1000K, 9 hour Tsukuba, and the granddaddy's of races, the 24s. Ouch.

Hm I dud one lap in A spec and was unaffected maybe because I was on Racing Hard tires and didn't race long enough to use fuel, I just got my FGT in gray with black outline 0 miles and at half price 2 UCDs ago :) nice car

I got the green FGT about a month ago (when OCD went back up online after the hack). Paid like 4 mil I think.......

I was pissed to see there was a FGT released again for 2 mil. Meh. At least I got a "rare" one.

Also pending on the lap, you occasionally have to slip into different tire types. I recommend you get all three to fit the right race.

I used RSS for all the races, even in the rain, cornering ability is much better with those than rain/wet tires. Just my opinion.

No I completely agree on that. The intermediates and rain tires have me losing so much grip ability but I guess it's that "safe" feeling you get when you fear spin outs and hydroplaning.

I accidentally started a Nurburgring race on one event wearing just racing hard tires. I couldn't quit because it was a championship. I had a few spin outs but other than I got the hang of it and managed to pull off a 1st place win. If I had the rain/intermediates set up, I might have had to struggle for lead.

It is a very tough Championship indeed.. I completed Fuji in first with the second car RIGHT at my back!!! Hard one :D Haven't been playing that since. Time to turn back I guess :)
