Formula GT

I have my Super License now and am going to try the Formula GT Series. Are all 10 races 30 laps? From what I can tell it mostly comes down to pitting strategy. Any tips before I spent the next 300 laps putting blisters on my fingers?

No, they're not all 30 laps.

Are you sitting down? Cote d' Azur is 78! laps. Test Course is only 25, but it's the Test Course. :banghead:

It is a lot about pit strategy, but it's more important to keep consistant lap times. Also, the AI isn't very good. Just do your best to keep your car out of the sand, & you'll do fine.

dude the f-1 races are the best in the game
they are not that hard , you dont have to win in the pits
just do it like any other race set your marks and run fast

i tell you what though my fav was the trial mountan race going thru those trees at 200+ mph with the road bounceing you around is just a rush:mischievous:

You'll have to do it in more than 1 session, some races are as long as the endurance races, the Cote D'Azure is the only race in the game I havn't done yet, i did the Endurance race on it but not the one in the Formula GT.

should be able to win by a lap or more on just about all these tracks, (not sure about the test course), if ya have any trouble dont be afraid to ask

EDIT: while I think of it, what car are you using?

Most of them last for about a third of what the/an endurance would last for, except for Cote, which is the full 78 laps.

And Seattle - which is the full 40 laps...

I read my guide and it says:
Professional F1
Race 1 at Midfield is 30 laps
Race 2 at Seattle is 40 laps
Race 3 at Grand Valley is 27 laps
Race 4 at Super Speedway is 50 laps
Race 5 at Rome is 28 laps
Race 6 at Test Course is 25 laps
Race 7 at Laguna Seca is 33 laps
Race 8 at Apricot Hill is 27 laps
Race 9 at Route 246 is 25 laps
Final race at Côtè d’Azur is 78 (yes 78) laps

The listed track lengths are:

Midfield - 2.235 miles
Seattle - 2.400 miles
Grand Valley - 3.121 miles
Super Speedway - 1.494 miles
Rome - 2.459 miles
Test Course - 6.426 miles
Laguna Seca - 2.276 miles
Apricot Hill - 2.402 miles
Route 246 - 3.182 miles
Côtè d’Azur - 2.090 miles

That makes for race distances of:
Race 1 at Midfield - 67.050 miles
Race 2 at Seattle - 96.000 miles
Race 3 at Grand Valley - 84.267 miles
Race 4 at Super Speedway - 74.700 miles
Race 5 at Rome - 68.852 miles
Race 6 at Test Course - 160.650 miles
Race 7 at Laguna Seca - 75.108 miles
Race 8 at Apricot Hill - 64.854 miles
Race 9 at Route 246 - 79.550 miles
Final race at Côtè d’Azur - 163.020 miles

That's a total of 934.051 miles, or 1502.888km.

All assuming you take the shortest possible line each and every lap...!

That's a lot of wear and tear on your F1 car! This championship is really tough on your car. You lose a lot of HP and your car gets really dirty, and you have to live with it until the end of the championship! The good thing is that it doesn't hurt your car's performance that badly. This championship is the funnest part of the game, however.

So to put this into understanding about 1000 miles

My car didn't get that dirty...you must go off the track too much. :P
I hate that loss of about 30 bhp, you can really feel the difference when you start a race with hardly any (no?) oil at all then do it later with new oil.

What bit did you not understand? It's 934 miles as Famine said

Famine always posts for the hard of understanding as befits the most knowledgeable GTP member tm

something like that, but i find some of the corners faster if I take the outside... like on Tokyo around that last corner before the twisted straight. (its not faster but you come onto the straight about 20 mph faster)

I can say with 100% certainty that I, RoadHazzard and BadBatsuMaru have all managed this - because we've all made the 229 day game.

I beat every race and earned 100 points in the end, but I used the save/reload trick, so I guess that doesn't count! I didn't want my average win ratio to go down when I did this race, so I saved after every race.

Well, that's not such a big deal to me. I just find it rather difficult to finish every race back to back in first place. The car looses SO MUCH power after the fifth race that it starts getting rather difficult. I went through and won the series, then went back and got gold with a fresh car on the ones I placed second in earlier.

I'm impressed - you guys are pretty good.

You should be able to win every race of this series in any F1 car (Poly 001 and 002 for me)

Have even heard of someone winning tha championship in a Denso Supra, I think

I didn't even think it was possible to win in a Toyota GT-One or a Nissan R390...:embarrassed:

I've also heard rumors of being won in a Tommy Kaira ZZII. then again, Flinx is 5 seconds faster around Apricot Hill than I am in similar cars.

AO

i just used the f-1 car you get from the super speedway endro that was the f/686 i think and placed first every race laping the other cars about twice per race, pitting on every 4th or fith lap

i wish they would let you change tires on that thing though
ive gotten fast on those super slick tires

they should of made those races a little more difficult
