Forum Messages Approaching 10 Million. Predict Day It Will Occur.

With the total number of forum messages ever rapidly increasing (up to 9,807,978 at the moment) on what day do you think it will happen?
I live for statistics and find them very interesting, no matter the subject. It could be fun to look back on, who predicted it correctly and gets bragging rights. I have never come across a forum this big and with these many messages.


My prediction: January 7th

Yes, there's nearly 300,000 removed messages, so we're actually at 10.1 million already.

But in terms of visible posts it's not going to be all that long. I think I worked it out as the middle of November a while back, but I'll have another look.

I did the math a month or so ago. First half of November it should be, given the activity of that time (I reckon it was 4000-5000 posts per 24 hours). If I was to guess now, I'd give it another month extra. :)
 
I'm going to guess it happens on Boxing Day (Dec. 26th). In theory there will be an influx of Christmas-related posts the day after.
 
When you factor in deleted and merged posts, I'd think it can get pretty muddied.

If we're talking current total post count, it could possibly happen on two (or more) separate days. We could just clear the total, then a mod or admin may trim a bunch of useless posts/threads, reducing the total back under 10M.

I also can see an uptick in the number of posts-for-the-sake-of-posting just to get the count up quicker.

This is the best guess. It would be harder to calculate if GT6, let's say, hadn't been released yet. There's a HUGE amount of posts that come from the GT6 section, particularly from new members which post non-sense and stuff like that, especially during the first days of release, not to mention the whole hype the days before.

But with that out of the way, I think Christmas is the day where you can expect a lot of new posts, before New Year at least. Or before someone famous gets killed.

What is considered a "visible" post? Would the total be higher for Premium members?
