The forums've been acting weird today… there'll be like a several minute period where it's totally unusable (nothing will load), and then it'll suddenly "come back" and be very fast and work just fine. It's gone through this "temporary offline" mode several times today (and when I say nothing loads, I don't mean that it's slow, I really mean that nothing will load – my status bar will just read "Contacting https://www.gtplanet.net" for several minutes).
 
I wasn't able to access the forums for at least 1 hour today, I tried to ping the server but on all my tries got no response. Otherwise I've been experiencing the same spontaneous timeouts for a while now.

I also noticed a "blackout" period from around 6:10 to 7:10 PM Eastern US time today when GTP appeared to be down (browser message was something like "could not connect to host"). Other than that GTP has been fine for me. Although sometimes b*.bluetime.* ads have been slow to load, and hold up the page for maybe 15 sec.
 
To stop the b.bluetime.com (or whatever they are) advertisements, go GTPremium!

Also, I noticed the downtime around 12pm today. I get exactly the same things as you do, the "Connecting to www.gtplanet.net..." status, and the status bar stays empty. It's happened for like 30 second periods to me for the last 2 weeks or so.

That doesn't worry me, but the 1 hour downtime did.
 
BTW Jordan, sorry, I forgot to run a traceroute. I'll try to remember next time!
 
Sorry about the downtime everyone, our datacenter experienced a network outage today. For those interested, you can read more about what happened right here.

BTW, will these temporary timeouts occur until things get "back to normal"?
 
Yeah, no apologies. I'm beginning to become a "GTP bum", I just hang around here a lot, so I suppose the break done me well. :lol:

It looks as if they are trying to fix the small outages that GTP seems to be getting, so I don't think it should happen for too much longer...but I could be completely wrong, so just ignore my possible jibberish.

Everything should be OK for now, I wouldn't expect there to be any more downtime but nothing is guaranteed.

Same here, i need to get away from this place from time to time, or at least explore the rest of the fourms. 👍 On avorage i'm here for at least 5-9 hours:crazy:. depending on what i'm doing on my computer.,:) but what could i say. I love this place.

I get this type of "downtime" thing every now and then I just usually think it my cable company and go on. :lol:
 
I've had this happen to me on and off for a while now. It never seemed to last more than a few minutes though.

But, GTP seems slow tonight. Very slow. It took 4 minutes to actually get onto the site the first time, and everything is taking a strange amount of time to load.

Apparently there were a few problems with an upstream provider today. See this site for more information.
