I only own a PS4 and GT Sport and I have no intention of that changing.

But, I've been sharing my GTSport excitement for the past 2 months with a friend from church. He's a little older than me (not that I'm that young myself) and he owns a BMW Z4

I showed him my version in GT Sport and he fell in love. Then, I started sharing some of the amazing replays that you good folks post here and he opened up and told me he used to race when he was younger.

Anyway, why do I need this comparison? He told me today he's going to buy a PS4 as soon as he breaks it to his wife and gets permission! LOL

But, I am biased to my PS4 system and I don't want to blindly recommend it, in the event that Forza is a better game for him. I'm not the right person for that comparison and it would kill me to lead him astray just because I don't know what his other options are.

Any words of wisdom from this smart crew?

Thank you

We crap on GTS for its penalty system and all, but really Forza doesn't even have one. Based on what I see online (hi SuperGT) it's always a ramfest online. If your friend wants content though and doesn't care much about online, Forza is the way to go. Forza also has a semblance of competitive battles (like Sport mode in GTS) but again, no penalty system sooooo :boggled:
Graphics-wise I don't think one is better than the other overall. GTS has arguably the best lighting in the industry, but you gotta admit Forza's newer models are pretty damn good, and not to mention native 4K in the Xbox One X

What about a wheel?

Buy a PC.
Then he can play Forza, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2, Raceroom Racing experience, Rfactor2, and Automobilista using any sim racing hardware he wishes.

Oh, an added bonus he can pay bills, check the news, bank account, and social media (if that's his thing blah).

Forza has 600 plus cars and some expensive DLC cars and heaps of tracks. I personally find the single player kind of stilted... the same nonsense for close onto 10yrs now.

My opinion is that Forza 6 did the single player better.

Forza, if he's 12, but GT Sport if he is any older than that lol
I would also agree about getting a PC instead, but I have a PC with Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2 and Forza Motorsport 7 and ever since I got the PS4 and GT Sport, I haven't even turned on any of them.

If he buys a PC that runs PC2 or most of those sims at its best, he won't be able to afford to pay the bills or have a bank account, LOL

But yes, for anyone that actually owns a sports car and has a clue how they handle at speed, if he gets that PS4, tell him to get AC or PC2 (my fave) and a wheel. Initial impressions of GTS's graphical wizardry will always wow the neophyte gamer, but a few weeks into GTS's totally unrealistic physics and handling he's going to see it is all hat, no horse.

PC2 or AC is the thing to sell him on (and yourself if you want to finally break free from the arcade limitations) if he's a proper gearhead. Me, despite its initial steep learning curve, for the huge track list, full active time of day/night and full weather systems, I'd tell him get into PC2.

On a PS4 Pro.
