Okay, some new colors to request:

Aston Martin DBS:
Casino Royale

GMC Typhoon:
Raspberry Metallic
Radar Blue
Bright Teal
Apple Red
Forest Green Metallic

I'll do Casino Royale, Radar Blue, and Apple Red. The other three are already on the spreadsheet. I thought @MadaraxUchiha and I made this clear and that no one would make this mistake anymore, but please check the spreadsheet and use the forum search function on here to check if a color has been done already. If it has, please don't request it unless you feel it is very inaccurate.

I’m honestly getting tired of requests especially when people don’t listen to what we say. It’s just laziness to not check the chart to see if colors are already on there or not. At this point we sound like broken records.

I don't mind doing requests. I see it as a way to get colors into the spreadsheet that I would have come across or thought to do. What I do mind is people not following simple instructions that you'd think would be common sense. There's no such thing as common sense anymore, so I guess I shouldn't expect it. I'll keep doing requests, even if I have to repeat the same instructions over and over again.

Well, the search function glitched on my end - so my bad.

These and the list of Audi colours are just a reminder (for me) of just how many colours the manufacturers started with back in the beginning. It's almost ridiculous, but not compared to how the current list is looking!
The main thing (on my end) is that all of those colours are gone from my list of colours. Of course, that's to avoid repeating a colour that has already been done and finalised. Even though we've done that at some stage, I would rather keep track of what's final and what isn't. As for planning, I know what colours and manufacturers I'll be doing some work on over the next couple of days.

When I first started helping out with this, I'm pretty sure there were about 1,200-1,300 colors, with the bulk of them being from Abarth to Chevrolet. I remember thinking to myself, "that's a lot of colors . . ." If only I could have seen the spreadsheet as it is now, but back then.

None of it would be possible without all three of our ongoing efforts to make this the ultimate FH4 color replication reference :) In fact, I believe it already is. I’m curious if the next Forza game, the Forza Motorsport reboot and eventually Forza Horizon 5, will use the same methods of creating colors or will they do something different or something akin to what Gran Turismo does :embarrassed:

If you could change anything about how colors are created in future games what would it be?

You already know exactly what I am going to say. I want more paint materials. I am thinking of fluorescent, matte metallic, iridescent, etc. I also want different materials for decals. Other games like GT Sport and The Crew 2 can do it. Why can't Turn 10 and PGG figure it out?

Also, I doubt Forza will adopt GT's system of acquiring paint chips that be applied to cars. Forza's current system has its root in the earlier days of Forza. I think it was first implemented in Forza Motorsport 2. I know that anything can happen, but I think it's safe to assume that Forza will continue to use its current system of painting. I want to see the decal mirror/flip/snap functions introduced in Forza 7 to be added to the next Forza game alongside the decal masking functions introduced in Horizon 4.

You know that Turn 10 or one of them has that ongoing thing where they want to know what they can do to improve the next games and are asking for fans help. You should give them your suggestions as well because you have great ideas :)

@Mitcho2001, could you update the first post in this thread to mention that there are a variety of tractor colors available in the spreadsheet?

Anyone willing to try their hand at Shark Blue, the launch color for the 992 GT3?

I’ll do it :)

Edit: Done :) Since I’m not on my laptop now I’ll add the values here now and to the chart later :)

So I went back and redid it because the first version is a bit bright. Try this one:

Shark Blue (Porsche)

Paint Type:
Normal (Gloss)
- Paint Color: 0.59 L, 0.74 R, 0.71 L

I’m more satisfied with this one :)

I agree with you, looking back at the first iteration, it's closer to Miami or Riviera Blue, which are both much lighter. I guess it's harder to come up with real values since we're yet to see the actual car in the flesh.

I applied it to my GT3 in game and it’s perfect :) What a great request! I love this color :)

Thanks for reminding me about that. I just went ahead and added that to the post, and further stressed checking the spreadsheet before requesting. That is seriously becoming a big issue now as of late...

Thanks. There's one other tiny mistake in that same post:

We are recreating manufacturer body colours and wheels, including those of third-party companies like Advan and HDV.1

I believe you mean ADV.1 instead of HDV.1.

EDIT: I think you should also change the name of this thread to Forza Horizon 4 - Colour Creation Database (CONSTANT WORK IN PROGRESS) - Read Original Post! so that the first thing people see when opening the thread is that they have to read the first post before requesting a color.

Gold Chrome (Acura, Honda)

Paint Material:
Aluminum Semigloss
- Tint: 0.10R, 0.75L, 1.00R

2019 Honda of Australia 50th Anniversary Color

This should really be Aluminum Polished, but it looks too dark that way, even with the brightness set at its maximum. This is still darker than the real color, but I didn't want to use Aluminum Brushed for a color that is supposed to be chrome. I say this because, for the gloss/semigloss/matte materials in this game, the same values will produce a brighter color with each drop in glossiness. Aluminum Brushed would have provided accurate brightness, but the reflectiveness would have been almost nonexistent. For these reasons, I chose Aluminum Semigloss as a compromise.

Thanks. There's one other tiny mistake in that same post:

I believe you mean ADV.1 instead of HDV.1.

EDIT: I think you should also change the name of this thread to Forza Horizon 4 - Colour Creation Database (CONSTANT WORK IN PROGRESS) - Read Original Post! so that the first thing people see when opening the thread is that they have to read the first post before requesting a color.
Okay, now that’s one I somehow never noticed. But I’ll sort that and the thread name out.
