That was what I was waiting for. Time to Pre-order!
 
I've pre-ordered a Ultimate Edition physical copy from a shop, does that mean I can still get it on the 28th?, or do I have to wait till the 2nd?

Depends on whether your shop breaks release date, but my guess is that you'll be getting it on the 2nd.

I'm pretty sure you can just go to the shop on the 28th to pick it up. If they gave you a receipt for your pre-order, I'd bring it, just in case.

I tweeted at PlaygroundGames just a few hours ago politely asking if the preloads could start ASAP because of my awfully slow internet. And now the preloads are live! Nice.
This will actually give me enough time to finish downloading the game before the 28th.

56K modems > 4K displays.
 
I'm betting the day one "patch" will be around 20-30g, like FM7.
 
Hopefully with my new Xbox coming in on Monday I'll get enough time to preload for the 28th....even with an extremely slow connection.
 
I'm probably going to leave my Xbox on overnight to preload it.

That's double the size of the demo. I'm cool with this. A few more hours of waiting won't hurt.

The real time ground/mud deformation is very good, especially around the deep wet slushy stuff in the slate quarry, you sink through it :p 👍

Accidentally captured the UI and all, but the mud particles look ridiculously good, actually. The attention to detail on the particle effects are pretty absurd all around, really.
 
7 hours in and I have downloaded 3.09GB! To be fair my internet is slower in the afternoon, Leaving my PC on overnight should get another 10-15GB by the time I wake up. Glad the preloads started so much earlier then previous games.

It's been almost exactly seven hours since I started, and I've downloaded 8.81 GB. With faster internet overnight, I'm thinking this can be done in about 48 hours total.
 
Whoever designed the microsoft store can kindly go suck a lemon since there is apparently no way to change the download location after you've pre-ordered something so it only wants to download onto my SSD which has nowhere near enough room. :banghead:
 
The car pass isn't showing up for me in the download queue, anyone else with this issue? I just purchased the ultimate edition.

That seems to come up every game release. Although it may come up as a 10MB install when it goes live on October 2, there's nothing to download and use between now and then.

Doesn't it work if you change it in Windows system settings?

I remember having to change the download location when I was getting Horizon 3 and Motorsport 7. My D: drive still has more than half a TB left :)
 
Frankly, I'll just keep plugging away at my backlog. The 28th will come.
