It is fairly high riding for what most of us would consider a supercar:
View attachment 1084655

But McLaren have positioned it as a softer, comfier car for eating up the miles - hence the name GT.
It looks like a child born between a C8 Corvette and a 650S (or any other random numbered McLaren).
I understand their concept, but if I were to use this car in an FH5, I would set it to the lowest ride height with race or drift suspension.

And the "current" models being added to Forza are limited to a few of their favored brands.
Specifically, Ford, McLaren, Aston, Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, Koenigsegg, and Chevrolet.
I'm not an Audi enthusiast, but I do sympathize with their fans.
There are several manufacturers that haven't had a new model introduced in years in Forza. Audi and VW come to mind first, but I know there are others.

At the same time, there are manufacturers that are severely lacking in cars new or old and there are far too many of those to compile a list, but Pontiac, Lincoln and Cadillac are good examples.

IIRC the names of the last two Lincoln Marks (VII and VIII) have been found by @TheAdmiester in game files, but I'd love to see a Navigator and a pre- or early-postwar V12 Continental added too (along with an early '50s coupe for the Carrera Panamericana connection).

And more non-Chevy GM additions (especially Oldsmobile) will always be welcome.

Great suggestion.
The Navigator is not a sporty model at all, unlike the European luxury SUVs. However, if this car is added to FH, we will be able to enjoy the causal showdown of Escalade vs Navigator.
An event like a street race between these American heavyweight monsters would definitely be fun.

I also agree that the spotlight should be on GM brands other than Chevrolet, such as Oldsmobile.
Toronado, Cutlass Supreme, and Buick Riviera and Wildcat. Forza has one of the most complete lineups of American cars in any racing game today. However, there are still many cars that are buried.

See, GT is behind on everything except Japanese cars, while Forza takes 25 years to get anything JDM. So now that we got the A90 at launch, I'm sure we can expect the GR Yaris by 2034.
I'm really surprised, though, that GT still doesn't have the Honda Civic Type R FK8, which Forza has had for a while. I guess it is a brand to brand issue.

Still, regarding car lists, the delays that the Forza franchise has, overall, are low compared to the delays that Polyphony has, overall.

Case in point: BAC Mono. Been in Forza since FM6 (2015), arriving in GT in 2022.
Case in point 2: Ford Shelby GT350R. Been in Forza since FM6 (2015), arriving in GT in 2022.

On average, the average delay between Forza getting a Japanese car is quite inferior to the average delay GT gets for non-Japanese cars.

That's why I like Forza's car lists so much. They provide a ample selection of classics, while maintaining themselves further in the present.

The new Continental from FM7 and the '64 Continental convertible from previous games would be great to have as well. I'd love the old pre and post wars cars as well. The Hot Rod & Custom division is lacking.

Toronado, Cutlass, 442, Rallye 350, Rivera, GS, Wildcat, etc. we are missing so many Olds and Buick models.
Some representation from smaller historical U.S. brands would be great too. Nash, Duesenberg, Packard, Auburn, DeSoto, Imperial, Tucker, and of course Studebaker would all be great picks.
I'd love to see all of these as well as Pierce-Arrow.

List updated. Great to see they weren't finished with New to Forza vehicles. Hoping that number hits at least 25, were at 17 now.

Less than a month to launch, full car list reveal cannot be far away also. Will be very interesting to see the final number FH5 Launches with.

While I'm on the subject of Hot Rods & Customs. We need more, Model T, '34 Fords, Chevys and Dodges, '41 Willys. I could go on, but I'll stop now.

Speaking of i know we got the 2015 dodge power wagon but would be nice to get the original as well.

I just want one new Audi, just one new damn car…:( At this point I don’t care which one, but just one new model…:(

I really don’t think I’m asking for too much…:( It’s been five and a half years since the last new Audi was added to Forza…:(
If @TheAdmiester is right, the wait might be over soon. I hope he is right, it's been way too long.

Don't know if this has been pointed out yet, but I'd imagine there are still at least a few new cars to go since no new pre-2000s cars have been revealed except the Mk I Racing Escort, the Jaguar XJR-15, and the Rothsport 911. I'd wager the Escort would be a barn find, and possibly the Jag, but that would be pretty rough if the rest of the barn finds were just returning models. I just don't see it happening that way.

Good point. Looking back at previous Horizons, we have;

FH4:
  • Peel P50 (New to Forza at the time)
  • Triumph Spitfire (New)
  • Land Rover Range Rover 1973 (New)
  • Ford GT40 Mk1 (New)
  • Ford Escort RS Turbo 86 (New)
  • Bentley 1/4 Litre Supercharged (New)
  • MG MGT, TVR Cebrera (a couple of FM4 returns)
FH3:
  • Ford Super Deluxe Station Wagon (New)
  • Holden Sandman (New)
  • Holden Monaro (New)
  • Holden FX Ute (New)
  • Meyers Manx (New)
  • Reliant Supervan (New)
  • Toyota FJ40 (New)
  • Plus multiple barn finds added post launch with new to Forza vehicles like the Volvo 1800E, Sunbeam Tiger
FH2:
  • Jeep Willys (New)
  • Ferrari 250GT Lusso (New)
  • VW Type 2 Deluxe (New)
  • Renault Alpine 1600 (New)
  • Ford Capri RS3100 (New)
So each FH has atleast 5 New to Forza barnfinds, possibly more. Also 360 returns are likely here as well.

FH5 has 14 Barn Finds. We know the VW Beetle is one. That leaves 13 unaccounted for.

As @YoungRhombus says, the Jaguar XJR15 could be one. Which would leave 12.

From there, we could potentially see another 5 New to Forza cars pre-2000? Maybe some returns from the FM4 era as well? Would be awesome to see. Those old Lincolns, Mercury, GMC Jimmy etc make more sense being on the leaked list now as potential barn finds.

Since FH3 and FH4's barn finds seem pretty locale-specific -- even the Audi Quattro (Ashes to Ashes) and Subaru Impreza (Colin McRae) fit 4's UK/Scotland theme -- I'm scouring that leak list trying to think of which pre-2000 cars have the most tangible Mexican connections. Here's a few:

-1986 Ford Mustang SVO: there were apparently unusual variants of these manufactured and sold in Mexico
-1973 Lamborghini Espada 400 GT: named for the sword used by bullfighters, so maybe PG will make up some story about a torero who bought one
-1957 Ford Thunderbird: a few hundred of this era's T-birds were actually assembled in Mexico, though they're pretty uncommon nowadays

Other than that, I can definitely picture the De Tomaso Pantera, GMC Jimmy, Chevrolet Corvair, Lincoln Continental, Dodge Stealth Turbo, and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler in the mix as prominent cars in the North American market.

I would love for the SVO to finally make it to Forza. It and the Terminator are 2 of the Mustangs that have been painfully absent from the series.
T-bird was in FM4 and I'd be happy to have it back.

A decaying GMC Jimmy with period Baja racer parts and livery would make sense.

I also can't help thinking they'll incorporate a Carrera Panamericana connection into at least one of the barn finds...

Perhaps this is why something like the 550 Spyder is missing from the Porsche list, potential barn find? I know the launch list of Porsches was revealed on twitter, but that didn't feature the 917 LH. Which is now in the list, so who knows. Maybe they are keeping the barn finds under wraps sans the VW Beetle.

Actually, there's another "confirmed" one (SPOILER ALERT) by the image for the "Find all Barn Finds" achievement. It's not present in the car list, just as the Beetle was at first.

While we're talking about loose ends...just a couple more I wanted to mention for discussion's sake.

Something that has stood out to me is that the only three cars so far that are either a) not new to franchise, or b) not taken from Horizon 4 are the Toyota FJ40 and Lexus SC300 (last in Horizon 3), as well as the DeLorean (last in Motorsport 4). As well, the DeLorean isn't even a Day 1 car. I'm hoping to see some returnees at launch; I'd think we would have seen more by now.

We also haven't heard anything regarding the Venturi Atlantique, which was supposedly being scanned for Horizon 4 (and was on the leaked list) but never made it to the game. I hope that it ends up making the cut sooner or later.

I'm convinced that one of the barn finds is definitely a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback.
Because the original Bullitt Mustang was found in Mexico a few years ago, and the news made headlines all over the world.
And PG often pays homage to famous movies and TV shows in their barn finds.
Based on this, we will probably find a junked 1968 Mustang in Mexico that looks very similar to the Bullitt Mustang and restore it.

I was lucky enough to see (and hear) it at Goodwood Festival of Speed when it was here. Something special 👏

That could have been the perfect opportunity for PG to get it scanned while it was here? 🤔

Absolutely agree. Turn10/PG are usually decently fast in adding new supercars/hypercars but they fall behind on the latest lower performance sporty sedans, hatchbacks, sport cars and such (new Mercedes-AMG A45 anyone?). Also during FM7’s lifespan the GT3/GTE car roster was massively outdated. I guess they knew back then a new FM game was far out and updating FM7 cars was a bit too late. 😁

Still overall I’m very happy with the car roster in FH4. Like you said Audi is lacking big in recent cars but they got a great representation of retro cars. Personally I’m more bummed with the vintage/classic/retro cars that were freshly introduced in FH3 (or FM6 the year before) but were cut for FH4, see the list below. One would expect at the time of FH3/FM6 these were newly scanned cars and they would last for several FH/FM games. I don’t think licensing issues are the reason for their absence, except maybe a few exceptions. There are some absolute gems in that list like the BMW 507, Nissan Silvia, Opel GT, Datsun 2000, M-B 300 SEL 6.3, A-M V8 Vantage and the Opel Kadett that I would love to see return a LOT more than whatever supernew hypercar they introduce next. At least for FH5 we seem to get the Toyota FJ40 and Lexus SC300 back, 2 great cars as well.

1951 Holden 50-2106 FX Ute
1951 Holden FX Sedan
1959 BMW 507
1966 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck
1966 Nissan Silvia
1967 Ford Falcon XR GT
1967 Volvo 123GT
1968 Opel GT
1969 Datsun 2000 Roadster
1971 Chevrolet Vega GT
1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III
1972 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3
1972 Volvo 1800E
1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4
1977 AMC Pacer X
1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage
1979 Hoonigan Baldwin Motorsports ‘Loki’ K5 Blazer
1979 Opel Kadett C GT/E
1979 Toyota FJ40
1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B
1986 BMW M635 CSi
1990 Renault Alpine GTA Le Mans
1992 Alfa Romeo Milano Quadrifoglio Verde
1992 Ford Falcon GT
1995 Ford SVT Cobra R
1996 SUBARU SVX
1997 Lexus SC300
1998 Aston Martin V8 Vantage V600

I’m not going to make the same judgement for the transition from FH4 to FH5 just yet since the car list isn’t final yet and many existing cars will return via Forzathon, the festival playlist and what not. But from what’s revealed so far it seems a similar cut in classic and retro cars is made again.

I think a lot of this is the FB/Twitter crowd not having any taste in cars for anything other than the latest and greatest supercar and being the most vocal.

I'd be willing to be the majority of those players aren't long term Forza players and don't appreciate the value and quirkiness of these vehicles, nor the iconic status of many of them.

The majority of the cars on this list, I didn't use, but only because I had found something better, but I definitely miss a good number on this list.

And sadly, that's how it's going to be unfortunately. People don't appreciate variety.

I really think the amount of variety and car count Forza has gained is truly a dual-edged sword because we take for granted the cars they add and then every game there's cuts. I know it's a "necessary evil," but I tend to gravitate toward the weirder cars and they're the ones that usually don't make it. Cars like the Nissan Juke, Plymouth Prowler, Pontiac Aztek, etc. are easily the most fun cars in the series for me, as well as the cars listed above.

Comrades!
All of the cars you mentioned were my favorites.
Especially the fact that Aztek is not present in the FH5 launch car list disappoints me.

I'm still holding out hope that it will come to the game eventually, along with several other cars we've lost along the way. I remember how angry people were about it being paid DLC, but now these same people are like "We want the Odyssey back!! We want the Aztek!! Why haven't they come back??" I don't know, probably because you all complained about them when they were added to the game and threatening not to buy any Forza games ever again.

On that same note, it surprises me how many post-launch FM7 cars have not made their way back to the series again. I'd love to see the Odyssey, Nissan Safari, Volvo XC90, Alfa Giulietta Sprint Veloce, and especially the Subaru 360 return. Really any cars that have been in the series that aren't anymore I'd love to have back.

EDIT: Forgot the Continental Black Label. That one too!
