Anyone else think ‘Legend Island’ was a little underwhelming?

The environment isn’t particularly different from anywhere else on the map, and doesn’t really have any points of interest that scream ‘end game reward’. A modern style circuit is a cool idea when the others in the game are all of the grassroots style, but the layout of it is sorta just fine? And yeah there’s another festival outpost, but it’s just the same as the main festival but much smaller and not particularly unique. Outside of the track, the roads we have on it are again no different to the rest of the map, they’re a bit plain.

A nice winding road maybe leading to a lookout at a peak that overseas the rest of the map could’ve been nice, dress it up a bit to give it a sense of achievement and exclusivity. There’s a couple of a resort looking buildings around the track, they could’ve been enhanced a little further to give the place a modern luxurious feel that’s unique from the rest of the map. Maybe a harbour/marina with some super yachts, or an ancient castle complex maybe?

No car meet spot is quite surprising also. We’ve seen how empty they can be sometimes, but I think one on Legends Island could’ve had potential to have a bit more of a crowd, if there was more of a reason to go there.

As near as I can figure, you're correct about him being the first character based on an actual person.

This probably doesn't count, but as far as real-world DJs are concerned I believe Chris Goss could be the first as he hosted the Hospital station in FH2 alongside London Elektricity.
The Don Thompson is real. I won't listen to anyone who says otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!! To speak of The Legend as if he is a fictional character is pure blasphemy.

Well, the Horizon Cartographer achievement popped up well before I found all the roads... I think I can live with that (Or is it about exploring all the regions?)

Suspicious Kenan Thompson GIF
It’s for regions, specifically removing the fog from the map in the pause menu.

Little underwhelming? More like a complete miss.

Legend island and the garage / property stuff - which arguably are the 2 big new additions to the formula - are complete flops IMO.

Thank god the core remains strong as ever.

Here’s the fun part: You can drive the Legend Island routes in multiplayer and Rivals without unlocking the island. Can get 100% discovery too.
I did this by accident because it was on multiplayer, I was raging I ruined the surprise

Oh that's a shame to hear. I was hoping there'd be a unique high end house there or something, in the way it's loosely based on the Magarigawa Club resort.

Not that we know of at the moment. We're hoping they come up as Series History rewards or possibly get added to the aftermarket pool.

EDIT: Tree'd
They are staying pretty quiet about this at the moment,it was mentioned in the run up to release but nothing since.Im hoping they will be aftermarket cars but who knows. While i`m here,is there any way you can check which tyres ypu have fotted when you go the change car tab, without going back to your home, telemetry or buy and sell screen?I wondered if a quick check is possible, unless i`ve missed something somewhere.I know the tune car option has disappeared before story races.

Many thanks.

As far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as a trivial drift zone but like I said the other day, the '68 Abarth 595 with tune share code 148 802 766 @breeminator recommended made it a heck of a lot easier for me.
3 more tips for drift zones:

1. Use manual, not manual with clutch. With the above tune I generally just left it in 3rd gear throughout. The reason you want M rather than MC is it automatically depresses the clutch if you use the handbrake, so it makes it a lot easier to incorporate handbrake taps.

2. Turn STM on, I find it helps a lot in preventing the car from over-rotating. TC should be off.

3. Use rewind. e.g. if you ever end up a touch over the edge of the road and stop racking up points, just rewind and tighten up your line.

As far as I'm aware it wasn't mentioned in the run up to release, what happened is some people placed a specific interpretation on something that was said, but it wasn't the only possible interpretation, indeed arguably it wasn't the most likely interpretation either. Unless some new information comes directly from the devs, I would assume that all playlist cars will be unavailable for a long time after they're available from the playlist, like in previous games.

These are good tips but 1 won't work for me as I can't drive stick and find it hard to believe that everyone who completed all the zones is able to or that PG would intend for this to be the case.

Drift zones seem to be a great example of how parts of the game some people find easy aren't for others.

On FH6 just press Toggle Detail button and you should be able to see which tires you've equipped on change car tab. It made the change car tab slightly more cluttered though

I think you're saying you use auto? The trap I was warning against is MC, I'm saying don't use MC as it causes a specific problem for drifting because you need to use the clutch as well as the handbrake, and even if you do, it doesn't work as well as the auto clutch in M. Auto doesn't have this problem, but it has a different problem in that the game will keep changing gears which makes drift zones more difficult. You can do them in auto, but it's actually much easier to use M, and leave the car in the best gear throughout, 3rd gear for the Abarth tune.

The Crew 2 got the home garages perfectly in my opinion.
