Well, I got hit with the age verification nonsense after logging in today, what's even more irritating is that the mobile verification didn't work (as in, couldn't verify) but my brother did it with no issues... yay.

It's not a huge problem per se, I've bought a grand total of one car via the AH and I've only downloaded a handful of liveries and tunes (@PJTierney's Ravenwest being the last) but it doesn't help matters having the experience sanitised even further then it already is.

Brutal Trial this week.

Tight circuit-based Trials really twist my Maserati nuts but I got lucky this week when all the tourists noped off after the first race leaving us a quick and easy run to the finish. I don't know what's going on with this end screen though. Looks like one car couldn't even wait until it was over to get away.

Once again, the cute sounds these mascots make when you hit them makes me feel like a monster.

I'm sure the designers thought it was kawaī to make the little tyre guys scream in agony as you dismember them but I still find it really kinda unsettling. #firstworldproblems

I beg to differ as I managed to clinch the win on the first race. Must have been a beneficial placement at the starting line, but the Ferrari 488 GTB I was driving certainly helped.

Even Chinese brands are giving up on the Forza series now.China is Forza's core market, with the largest player base.If there weren't that many Chinese players, they wouldn't have added many Chinese cars to FH5.

I think Playground Games sees the Chinese gaming market as an emerging market, but not as a core market.

I don't know whether I'm the only Chinese here, hopefully not. But it would be really great to see some performance cars from China in game, Yangwang U9/U9X, Denza Z, Zeekr 001 FR, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Lotus Emeya/Eletre (they are theoretically owned by a Chinese brand now), etc.

I don't mean any disrespect, but part of the reason why there's little to no appeal for Chinese vehicles in the western world is because the brands are generic and non-descript. To the average person who's not into cars, a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sounds like it's another smart phone, and a Zeekr 001 FR might as well be an amplifier for a high-end HiFi music system from the late 90s... It just doesn't sound desirable.


And please, no one should ever ever again mention the Lotus Eletre being a thing. A 6000lbs Lotus? Colin Chapman is rolling so fast in his grave he might as well be actually producing enough electricity to power the thing.

Chinese cars might be technologically advanced, but they lack passion. They make cars like household appliances, with brands, sub-brands and sub-sub-brands popping up everywhere. Not to mention that the design is generic and not memorable. Xiaomi and Wangyang (along with Nio, Lynk & Co. and Denza) sure, they fit in a racing game, it's just that they aren't my cup of tea. Sorry not sorry.

And please, as a Lotus lover, stay away from the Eletre and whatever that electric sedan—Emeya or how it's called—is. Colin Chapman is rolling in his grave right now. Two-tonne electric mastodons with a Lotus badge on the hood are just sad. Simplify, then add lightness? Not anymore, it seems.

Anyway... the Demon is an underwhelming addition, at least next week the Renault Spider will balance this out :-P

GT7 got the U9 and SU7 Ultra so that's a good start.

It seems that an increasing number of Chinese brands are abandoning Forza in favor of partnering with its competitors—even if those competitors do not enjoy the same level of popularity in China as Forza does.
