Looks like the same stretch as on GT7's Tokyo, but I've not noticed that station building there before. Did PD leave it out?!
Tbf FH6's Tokyo Station placement is so wrong. That station is like a kilometer away from the real life counterpart. Here's a pic for you to compare it. So you could say that GT7's Tokyo is more on par with real life lol.

Surprise, surprise, Forza Horizon maps are never a 1:1 representation of their locations.
It's a recreation of Tokyo and Japan, not 1:1.
Guys chill lol, sorry that I confused you with my original post, I never implied the map was 1:1 because that would be foolish; I just wanted to address @VXR original response where he said that, since the Tokyo Station was shown in Forza Horizon, did PD forget to include the station in GT7? And I just pointed out (and I failed to communicate my message properly because I was a bit sleepy when I was writing the post lol) that if we were to compare both games to real life, the one in Gran Turismo was more on par with real life, that's it.

Since I'm here, Forza's French's account uploaded this:

Is that the Shinkansen???

Also that looks too small to be a festival site. Could it be an outpost or something?

I don't think 'outpost', but I do think 'Festival event start location'. The Outposts in FH5 were much bigger than that, they needed plausible garage locations.

Short summary of the features mentioned:
  • Generally they said that they wanted to give players the freedom to play as they like, even with the more structured campaign this time round. Which means more ways to progress in the open world/free roam outside of the campaign (which is locked to specific car classes/types).
  • Time attack are always available in free roam with no loading, there are road and off road courses, with sectors, and timing for deltas etc. Each lap gives credits and XP.
  • The in-world leaderboards are dynamic, and show the best times for your PI class, as well as your own time, and your friends times, especially if they've beaten your time.
  • Times are wiped each season, so weekly (confirms season length).
  • Aftermarket cars in the open world are dynamic, and change based on your progression, car collection, and events nearby. Can be bought and driven directly in the open world.
  • Drag strips work in the same way as time attack tracks, each run gives credits and XP, and are synced in the open world with other players. Starting a drag race "snaps" you into the correct starting grid spot and there's a countdown. You can jump start, which invalidates your run.
  • Freeroam skills have a new multiplier, so doing the same skill at the same time as another player near you gives you more points. This is pretty cool as it gives a genuine reason to drive together with players in the map, even with strangers.
Nothing revolutionary, but some cool little evolutions of the "Horizon" gameplay loops I'd say.

It must be Torben Typo Tuesday as IGN spelt his name wrongly.

I found this on Discord. Apparently he actually spells his name "Torbin". I'm as surprised as you are 😂🤷‍♂️

Edit: This turned out to be a joke and a reference to IGN spelling his name wrong. It's Torben 😂

I've never played an horizon game before because I don't have a Xbox. Then FH5 came to PS and I thought I'd check it out but never got around to do it. I've seen some of the gameplay footage on YouTube for FH6 and started reading through this thread and I'm thinking I definitely want to get in on this one.

Not sure if anyone knows yet but if I get this on PC, can I play it with my PS5 controller or would I have to get an Xbox controller?

Wondering if I should just wait until it comes out on PS5 🤔

Will there be a clean lap/dirty lap feature too? I wouldn't mind either way.

Also I hope strangers can't ram your car while in these mini-events.

This means we now have 3 confirmed time attack circuits. One on legend island, the Ebisu-inspired one from the Developer Direct showcase and this new one from Today.

It turns out this is the track that the Saleen S7 LM rolled up to in the end of last week's video:

That's a new bodykit on the S2000, isn't it?🤔

It also seems like other players will be ghosted during the time attack runs, which'll prevent ramming.

@UKMikey I'm sorry for all the headache I caused you today 😂

To me, it's a bit amateurish of IGN to misspell Torben's name tbh - not difficult for them to check it beforehand. Some people can get upset when their name is misspelt. But he's taken it the best way by having a joke with it.

EDIT - apologies @UKMikey - my comment was just trying to highlight my point above.

I noted that they specifically mentioned 3 drag strips being in FH6 in the video. Since there were only 2 in FH5, the FH6 map is clearly 50% bigger than FH5... j/k
