It would seem they've rectified lots of the issues I had with FH5's map. Torben even specifically mentions these little side areas and details that I've missed so much since FH1-4. A heavily layered map like this is what I've wanted out of horizon for some time now. Even Surfer's Paradise was quite flat in comparison to Tokyo! Can't wait to get my hands on this map.

SHOW THE ◼️◼️◼️◼️◼️◼️◼️ MAP ALREADY!

Sorry. Sorry.

I like what Torben said right there at the end about finding all those extra little details the artists have put in the map. For me, that’s what makes map exploration so much fun. After five years, I’m still finding things in Mexico, like this cabin on top of a hill on the extreme north of the map. It makes it all the more rewarding.

Edit: It’s right here if you want to check it out.

Watching the IGN video on the big screen and I wonder why art director Don Arceta seems to be rendered at a lower resolution than Torbun Torbyn.

I hope Don's not an AI-generated hologram. Someone check his fingers.
(Yeah I know it's a webchat video and they're zooming in)

He's not the player character, that's why he is a lower LOD.

After the Tourbin debacle, I am just glad they didn't show Don Arceta as Donna Cetta...

Keeping going with the #newtohorizon reveals I see - hopefully they have lots more left to reveal :D

I'm genuinely shocked that American owned and British made Forza is adding cars that are more Gran Turismo heritage than Gran Turismo itself.

True. It's weird that PD never leant back into the JDM-focused games that made the series' name (and made the cars themselves such cultural icons worldwide). A 'GT does Japan' or 'GT does TXR' would've been a massive hit at any time in the past 25 years.

But what's worrying me most is if the PS5 launch is half a year later than PC/Xbox, how do PS5 players catch up with the missed Forzathon seasons and their cars? Has anyone explained yet? Surely they don't have to wait years and years until end of the cycle to get events/cars everyone else gets their hands on in the first few months?...

We don't even know how Xbox/PC players will get exclusive cars yet. You'd assume the weekly Playlist system will be back but there's been no mention of it so far.

Interesting!

EDIT: to remove swear word from the screenshot. My bad. Don't know if I should also censor the link since the embed has it too?

Here's an elephant in the room: Will PG/T10 acknowledge the Bosozoku scene? Or the Dekotoras? It's obvious the painter community will take care of the Itasha stuff, but it wouldn't be Japan without an old Laurel/Cedric decked out with over the top bodywork and 6ft tall exhausts.

May I present one of the greatest PS2 game intros ever:

In all seriousness, I feel like of all the scenes you mentioned, Bosozoku would at least get a shout-out. A lot of Bosozoku cars were inspired in part by the Japanese Group 5 Shillouete cars of the 80s and, for better or for worse, the early days of Highway racing in Japan. Some tuning companies (mostly Liberty Walk) still carry some of that spirit today.

Now, what would be really fun is if PG carried over the Group 5 Bluebird, S12 Silvia and Skyline from FM8 into FH6, and added a handful of body mods to go with them. I doubt it would happen, but it'd be cool to see.

That's true, their latest R32 bodykit is full on Boso madness. They did mention the Forza Edition cars would be kind of crazy this time, so one can hope. I mean, T10 gave us a Donk way back in FM7, so anything's possible.
The R32 Boso kit in question

If there was ever a game for PG to add the Super Silhouette range from Liberty Walk, this would be it.

They're highly requested on the forums too.. come on PG, you know what you have to do!

Liberty Walk could use a good update as well, they've added a lot of kits over the years and the game's customization would benefit greatly from tapping into their large catalogue.

The RX-7 is my fav. PG pls.

I feel like the JDM-ness is still there, but philosophies and approaches have changed over the years.

But there are so few deep cuts, and not a single Touge type road. Blows my mind that since Gran Turismo 4, they've steered away from anything that's not a Skyline/FD/MX5/Supra etc, the normie JDM stuff.

I shouldn't have to be playing a western Xbox game to drive a City Turbo on a Japanese mountain road.
