Inaccessible areas are required as it marks the limit of the map area.

FH5's map had inaccessible areas north and south because Mexico is bounded by large bodies of water on the west and east and without them you'd drive into the USA and Guatemala.

They're just physical barriers you can't drive beyond, rather than bits of the map the evil developers don't want you to use.

So you are telling me they even made parts of America a part of the map if those areas were drivable and it wouldnt just suddenly end with some kind of void? I have seen quite a bit of territory that was all land not just water.

No, I'm not telling you that, nor anything other than what I actually told you.

The north and south of the FH5 map were inaccessible precisely to limit the map and its size to what's physically feasible. That's the literal point of inaccessible areas. If you don't have inaccessible areas and "every part of the map" is made accessible, what stops you from driving beyond the map?

Looking at the putative FH6 map, there's inaccessible areas limiting the edge of the map on the north and west - just like there were in FH4. Why do you want those to be accessible?

Because it would be cool and if they are accessible why dont they just replace that inaccessible land that puts players into a black screen with a void?

Why would it be cool driving in nothing? Not that you even could because nothing would include no surface at all so you'd just be falling until you got bored and shut the game down. Or, more likely, until you exceeded the memory limit and the console has a thrombo.

This is why these map-limiting barriers exist.

I have literally no idea what this means.

You're proposing just driving off the end of the map and falling to (what may as well) be infinity in blackness until your console crashes. That's cool... how?

When the player falls into the void after the player hit the last piece of land from the map the player gets reset back into the edge of that land rather than a game crash. Its like falling under the map and then being reset back on to the map. I doubt they scanned the entire island nation of Japan. So surely that hidden area would not be that big.

No, they don't. The game has physical barriers specifically to prevent this. That's, again, literally the point of these inaccessible areas. They're sympathetic landscape areas - such as mountains, forests, the sea - that block any further progress to keep you on the map.

This is Forza Horizon. They don't scan real places. The maps are interpretations of the locations in which they're set, with significantly shorter distances between locations, smaller locations, and sometimes a mild rearrangement of geography.

And again, it's literally the point that they don't have to recreate the entire (four main islands, not one) nation of Japan.

But you do get the point that it would be a weird idea and there are certain weird ideas that they should implement even if its not neccasarily a unlimited map. Thats where I am coming from. Some weird ideas even if not every weird idea is realistic of being implemented.

It's also worth explaining why making people fall off the edge of the world into what's by definition an inaccessible area is in any way making the area accessible...

Or at least worth you thinking about it and trying to explain it to yourself. I don't think my brain stem can survive you actually trying to explain it.

I had a weird idea and I wanted to share it. I feel like having weird features and elements inside a game make the game more interesting.

It's not a weird feature or element though is it? The map has a boundary, a limit, a finite area, there doesn't need to be anything else.

If it didnt it would a weird element as it would be unusual if the map had no boundary. And I would say I will be satisfied with the inner map anyway. As always I will take my patience and see how accurate these community made maps and guesses are when offical people show us the rest we dont know about.

You're not creating a map with no boundary. It's the same boundary but now comprises a non-interactive void instead of some stuff you can interact with. Rather than getting to the edge, mucking about with it for a while, and going back again you now just drop into dark nothingness. You've swapped a limit for the same limit and made it worse.

The only way to create a map with no boundary is if it's the whole planet - as water provides the same function as a physical boundary on two sides (like in FH5, and FH4). Even then, that's a wraparound boundary like you used to get in Pac-Man.
