The amount of entitled replies to this tweet from people who think that if you leave your front door unlocked, then you have no recourse against the people who broke in and stole your stuff is remarkable. "Technically, I didn't break in 'cos it wuz open bro"... I really need to stop clicking on X posts.
Twitter is the place where people leave their brains and critical thinking skills behind. Most parts of that website, that is.

As eager as I am to play this game, I will not be changing my time zone, or anything else that might jeopardize my account. It’s not worth a lifetime ban on playing my favorite video game.
While you're right to be cautious, especially now, this is a Grand Canyon-sized difference albeit mostly in optics.

Play leaked/cracked release of game = ban. No one on the development side looks bad for clamping down and throwing you on the chair.

Play game you've legally purchased, earlier than intended, by manipulating time zones = hypothetical ban. Everyone on the development side looks bad because you've now thrown someone to the chair for...wanting to play their legally obtained and purchased copy of the game early by, for all intents, a loophole?

It goes without saying that businesses, let alone corporations rarely err on the side of what makes sense and doesn't make it look like a spiteful piece of 🤬, however, having said that: I've done it for FH3, 4 and 5 and have never been thrown to the chair.

AFAIK (and I know very little) there's no EULA clause saying you can't set your Xbox's region to whatever you want. They could ban you for whatever reason, sure; however, if they did so because you momentarily changed your location to Kiribati, on the mere presupposition that this change was motivated by the desire to access a game early, their legal team would probably have words with them.

That being said, the only way to make sure the time zone trick is 100% kosher is to go through the various legal documents provided by Microsoft with a fine comb to see if the purchase entitles you to play at midnight in the country you purchased the game in, or "when it unlocks through the Xbox dashboard". And ain't nobody got time for that.

Of course, all this hubbub and faffing around with console settings could be avoided if they decided on a standardized, global zero hour for first party releases.

So, how are you playing FH6? Straight purchase or Game Pass Ultimate? Xbox Play Anywhere or Steam?
I bought it on the Store back in January.

Unfortunately I booked the gasman on Friday to come round and give my boiler its yearly once over so I won't be able to get as early a start as I hoped. Hopefully I'll be playing the game for years if it's good, though, so a couple of hours won't make any difference. The main attraction of Premium for me is the car packs and expansions.

Bought the Premium upgrade on my Xbox account and will play it using my PC gamepass. This also let's my brother play the same copy on his Xbox at the same time.

$70 for two copies of premium edition with early access is not a bad deal.

I will play it on my laptop using my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription until my subscription runs out in December, at which point I will wait for the next sale and then buy the full premium edition on Xbox Play Anywhere.

First time I’ll be ‘buying’ Forza in a while after I got rid of Game Pass, the $190 AUD price tag for Premium is a pretty scary number I’ll admit. It’s first game I’ve actually bought in a long long time.

Better than just throwing away cash each month for Game Pass when I’ve hardly touched my Xbox in months. Was tempted to just settle with the standard edition but I know I’ll still end up buying the expansions and what not anyway.

I saved up enough Rewards points for a $25 coupon and bought the Premium edition from the MS store. I'd rather have a physical copy, but I used to buy the steelbook editions that also came with a 1/43 car, and that hasn't been a thing for a long time.

So digital it is. 😞

I find it quite hilarious just how desperate people are to play this game. I probably won't be playing the game until 7:30pm Melbourne time on the 19th of May. I'm not even going to bother with early access or pre-load because I want a disc copy. It will be my very first Horizon game on disc!
