Oof, I enjoy taking random snapshots, especially for collection/completion purposes, but I do not like that it takes almost a minute to transition back from photo mode to driving. I'm on an SSD so I'm not sure if these loading times are just part of the bargain or what.
Not sure if it was something I tweaked in the graphics or something that was fixed in a patch or what, but this isn't an issue anymore. Thank goodness. I've also noticed, albeit with the help of the PC settings in this video, that things are running a lot smoother for me.

Finally started playing the game yesterday! A lot of fun, though the Drivetar opponents have their own issues.

During the Horizon Invitational Wristband event, I took some photos of Ramona Cravache and Zaki Malik, two Horizon star veterans!

Well, I had my first disappointment with the game with my first Touge race: The difficulty is just wrong and the rival car just rubberbands away without making any mistakes. I won't touch them again until I hear about a rebalancing. I distinctly recall The Crew Motorfest did these much better. :boggled:

Well, I briefly reinstalled The Crew Motorfest to check some things, and I realized I can't go back. First, I'm completely lost and I don't know/recall what to do (and I cannot erase my profile/save), and second, even at its highest visual settings (on PC) ... Oh boy, FH3 still looks better by a country mile, it's not capped just at 60 fps, and it doesn't stutter!

I think some of the races have broken difficulties. Not surprised by a couple bugs with the amount of content, but it is definitely a surprise when you are going race to race.

Electic town circuit in Tokyo A700 for me. I was running Expert and it was like I was up against unbeatable.

I have been using average difficulty so far and won every race but I plan to change it once the Festival Playlist goes live and if it requires me to do certain things on a higher difficulty.

I don't even know where to start with this game. It's a whole world away from Mexico. It's also a whole world away from The Crew Motorfest which honestly feels soo much cheaper in comparison. I don't have a desire to play that game ever again because it just doesn't feel as fun. Horizon 6 has a bunch of fun stuff to do, even if you just want to screw around on your own without any obligations. Driving the little Subaru Vivio through the little lanes of Tokyo was probably the most authentic city driving experience I've ever had. Very much reminds me of my own city of Melbourne which has a bunch of laneways alongside the main streets. This level of authenticity was sorely lacking in FH4 and FH5, where the roads were simply too wide for the countries they were trying to represent. FH4 especially. One part I really like is the dockyard because it's a big paved area for stunts and other shenanigans that reminds me of the Battersea complex in Dirt 3. FH5 didn't have this sort of industrial environment and it honestly made the map feel a lot more rural. This Japan map combines the old and the new like no other before it, so you genuinely feel as though you're in a modern, real world that actually exists. Then we have the road density and elevation. Holy crap. The alpine region is mad because you're really high up and when you get to the top, you can see the city several KM away - like how you can see Melbourne from the top of Mount Dandenong. However the region itself reminds more of Mount Hotham - Victoria's tallest mountain peak. I spent way more time than I expected playing around in the snow with the TME Evo 6. I'm really excited for the adventures to come because I know there will be a lot of fun to be had. I could go on about how much better the career mode is, the addition of some proper heavy metal songs and the tents at the Festival but then I'd be here all day. It's just that good.

im posting here beacuse this is the type of 💩 that tends to come back to west by some "circles"

i heared by some japanese xbox fans, that some parts of japanese gaming media had a hard bias agnaist xbox and agnaist western game overall (as a way to protect its own market), but never saw this... until now

I saw this borderline xenophobic post trying tone a bad paint into a harmless reddit meme just to create a reason to hate the game

they paint that "overseas people are worried that people can imitate the game in real life and start invading rice puddles"

abusolutely shameless, thankfuly most of japanese users that I saw the news called it dumb and stupid but is still making lot of buzz in japanese internet

Yeah same here, impossible to win that race no matter what car or tune I used. Same for the drag race close to the rocket. I was running in expert, then lower two notches and drivatars went 2 tenth faster overall.

It is for some reason easy to beat them in The Trial while on a high difficultly setting.

I would love to see a list of potential aftermarket cars but I’m too lazy to start a thread and keep it updated, although I might change my mind if nobody else does it for awhile. I found the Lamborghini Countach Lpi-800 but didn’t have enough credits at the time and I think that was the only time that happened due to my buying an aftermarket Koenigsegg CCGT which drained all my credits. Other notable aftermarket cars I bought include the Miata FE, RX-3 FE, SF90, XJ220S TWR, Radical RXC, Lotus Elise GT1, Escort RS1800, and a whole bunch of others that were less memorable.

Edit: how could I forget the Subaru BRZ FE! That thing is WILD!

I have won that Countach from a Wheelspin yesterday.

Just try the game on gamepads, it's a pleasant surprise, immersion is top notch, period, map is great, physics seem a bit more forgiving than FH5 is some case, especially on dirt track ? did you get the same feeling ?
I also like motorfest in a different league, it's a more flashy, fun and arcady game, with its own vibe
Graphics are awesome, now I can't wait for this game to land on PS5 with pro enhancement !

Looks like changing difficulty on the fly don't work, I tried the same drag race now and won it first time, very strange. Yesterday no matter what difficulty I've tried (I even went to the garage and back), I always finished fifth or sixth. I guess you need to restart the game for a proper avatars change.

It does if you put it to average.

@Populuxe I had the disconnects last night. Went away for a coupke of hours and when I came back the MS server team seemed to have fixed things.

I was kicked out of Horizon Life at around 3am (GMT +1) which'd be 7pm in your time zone (PDT) so I doubt it was caused by heavy server load.

I couldn't remember whether I won this on Highly Skilled or not so I just tried it again on Expert and won OK with a couple of minor scrapes with the kamikaze AI. Maybe the difficulty is nerfed after a restart or perhaps it was my superb driving (yeah, right). But it was almost certainly down to this car/tune combination:

Probably the first car I had to go to the Autoshow specifically for. Those drivatars were definitely driving with elbows out, so this tune's great launch stat must've helped me avoid the turn one carnage.

Hope this helps.

I agree the difficulty seems to be off, especially on street races, at least from previous games. I'm having to do the same races several times and even then I barely win most of the time.

I race on Highly Skilled and I was able to race Expert without issue on FH5. I wonder if the new physics engine has made things different. It seems like the AI can't handle even the lower class cars, I've been dive bombed and smacked around quite a bit, even in A class.

It's extremely inconsistent from race to race. The AIs cheat like crazy, their cars have impossible behaviour, e.g. they accelerate away from you at the start when they have the same car as you, no matter how you build your car. And then they have an impossible top speed while still somehow having way more cornering grip than you if you build your car with low grip tyres to match their top speed. You can do a race on Highly Skilled and get an easy win, you can do another one on Average and barely win. You can change your car while keeping the difficulty the same, go 30 seconds quicker on Colossus and the AIs just go 30 seconds quicker too, even though they're using the same cars that were 30 seconds slower the previous race.

The two games have their strengths and weaknesses. I much prefer the more accurate colour grading of FH6, I've never liked the tinted colours in Motorfest. And Motorfest badly needs DLAA support, it's nowhere near as crisp and clear looking as FH6. Apart from that I feel the environments are quite similar in the mix of what they contain. In terms of fun, what has really killed Motorfest for me is the UGC track creator and them using the tracks in the summit. The game was so much better before they added that garbage. And they seem to have lost their way a bit compared to TC2, with summits often being single car affairs, which again I don't like. I think FH6 feels more fun right now because it's new and fresh, I know the same old frustrations will surface with more play because they haven't fixed a single thing I've seen as problems in the older games. Motorfest has just been around longer for the annoyances to be felt.

I love their aggressiveness. It makes 1v1s far more engaging. However they lose this aggressiveness the moment you are first.

However, they still are broken in a horde (especially when they bunch up at turns or right before/after a jump). They also have insane grip and power.

Hope this gets patched soon. I can't imagine the trial being fun with this AI, especially with all the new players.
