I bought a Lamborghini Gallardo Performante for one of the events last night because I didn't have a vehicle in the specific category. I don't remember what it was but it includes the Ferrari F40, Ferrari F50 and C8 Corvette. After the race, I stuck with the car for two more events before ripping it through Tokyo. I felt like I was playing Midnight Club again. Speeding past huge buildings and navigating laneways whilst avoiding traffic is the sort of thing I just love because it's exciting. I know you could say the same about Need For Speed but I'm not really a fan... It hasn't left a lasting impression on me and never truly filled the gap left by Midnight Club. This game does. Now, how do I get the 355?

It will be available in the Festival Playlist in Spring. Unfortunately this is still the same one with the F1 and the wrong model year. Either they change the model year or keep it 1994 and remodel it to a an actual 1994 one which only comes in manual. Honestly it needs a remodel either way. Also most F355s were manuals and only the minority were F1s.

Some short musings after 20+ hrs

  • The world has so many great POI's and Parking spots. I assume they'll utilize these for the temporary car meets in the playlist, still very cool to see so many of these dotted around versus previous games. It definitely makes the world feel more authentic.
  • I love being able to put different rims front to back - pretty much every car I build I do this, even if it's completely unc
  • There are still a few cars missing the wheel spacer option (08 WRX STi, 97 M3 E36) which is a shame :(
  • Barely touched online, but I've really liked what I've played so far from Spec Racing. Exactly the kind of mode Horizon Play needed.
  • Soundtrack is a huge bop. Loving it so far.
  • Big fan of the wheelspin/credit rebalance so far. Not getting showered as much as FH5, but still getting plenty to be able to buy new cars, customize etc.
  • PG, where ma F-Type?
I'm still waiting on the F-Type Project 7, one of my dream cars. I sorely miss it.

Yuji's "incredible drift master" is awful lol.

I might just not be fun but I find Keiko very annoying. Her and Mei just the resident state the obvious but in a very forced and unnatural way.

I just spoke against myself i bought fh6 yesterday and i actully have pretty good time with it. The city is so much better than all previous horizon games, which for me could mean this will be fun to play for longer than fh5, noticed cars details for headlights taillights looks way better to so they did a good job here.

Bought the standard edition because i just dont like with to much being throws at you. Its easy enough to make money as it is in my opinion,

Is the playlist really replayable id you miss out on it, not sure how its going to work,

But i heard before release you should be able to get cars you missed out on.

Playing on pc, CPU amd 7900x and gpu 7900 xtx with 32 gb ram with ssd. And have notice some stuttering at times where the frames just drops for a 1 second,

Hopefully thats something that will get resolved soon, i read online that i am far from the only one with that issue.

Just been playing around with some upgrades. The graphics in this game are soooo realistic!

It turns out the preorder J50 and the VIP Forza Edition cars cannot be removed from your garage in any way :banghead:

Why is this a thing when we could remove/sell PO cars in FH4 and do the same with VIP FE cars in in FH5?

I have no need for them in my garage as I only keep stock cars in there, and just want them gone for good.

If anyone feels the same or just wants to support this bug, here’s a link to it and I’d really appreciate it: Link

So, I'm trying to complete the Goliath (or the Colossus, whichever one is the boring one that uses the highway loop and requires a car that goes 3000mph, ugh) I noticed the AI is allowed to use the AMG One in low downforce, wings and flaps down trim, but we're stuck with the high downforce "track" trim. I manually changed the car to the low downforce setting before the race (fun fact, the thumbnail for the car actually changes and removes the rear wing, kinda neat) but it defaults back to the high downforce mode once the race menu loads in... I assume it's the same for the P1, Ford GT and GMA T50, but I haven't tried those yet.
I don't know about the config of the P1, but it's an extremely good car for Colossus, with amazing grip relative to its top speed. I need to experiment with the build a bit more, but it's capable of very good times at 900 PI. I don't think the AI's cars reflect what they're actually driving, I think they must just be cosmetic skins, as they have impossible combinations of speed and grip on Colossus for the cars they're using, and the same car can do completely different times in 2 different races. E.g. here you see the Centenario being a 6:05 car one race, and a 6:22 car the next race (both races Unbeatable). The most likely explanation is the AIs are simply not really driving the stated cars.

They actually changed FH4 so you could no longer sell PO cars, I think possibly because people were trying to sell them for real money and getting upset when someone other than the buyer got the car first in the AH, but that's just my speculation.

Upvoted, I also find it frustrating you can’t remove Barn Finds.

With all of these kinds of cars the ideal solution would be to make them visible in Autoshow but you can’t gift them or list them on Auction House.

I wonder if you can send a ticket to support and ask them to delete those cars from your garage (if that’s even possible).

You know I’ve been thinking the same thing about Barn Finds & Treasure Cars, some folks want them out from their garages, others (like me) want more copies of those cars to build up.

The latter part of your comment is what I reckon is the best compromise and I can even imagine an in-game lore explanation for it.

Let’s say after reaching Legend Island and finding all treasure cars and restored all barn finds, Mei reaches out to you and says that thanks to the documented Barn Find rebuilds and Treasure Car recovery’s, the Horizon Festival is willing to rebuild “Replicas” of those cars and put them in the Autoshow.

For a price and with the conditions of them not being gifted or auctioned off, only removed from your garage.

Basically an extra in-game lore perk of making it to Legend Island and as a Master Explorer.

I feel like in theory that’s definitely possible, but realistically I don’t think they’d ever do that unfortunately.

If they’d end up doing it for one person, then they’d have to do it for others, and I’m not deserving of the exception.

I just really hope they don’t pull a “won’t fix, this is by design”‘on this cause it would be disappointing to say the least.

I hope they don't pull a won't fix or by design on the convertible toggle not working on many open top cars like in Forza Horizon 5. Once again a lot of cars are missing it. Also you can't remove Barn Finds either.

Some small changes made during development that I picked out from the dialogue lines of queen Amy Simpson herself:

  • The treasure car by the golf course initially was the Corvette Stingray
  • The Ford GT and the Lancer Evo III ended up swapping places

Turns out you can't purchase a festival playlist car from car meet. I've tried it with a random player that used a Pagani Huayra R. The buy copy of the stock car is not clickable and will just prompt a message that said the car is available as a seasonal playlist. So only autoshow cars that is available to purchase on car meet.

I get it, it's a move probably designed to prevent hoarding and exploiting the Auction House system that way--it would be really easy for friends or alt accounts to discreetly fund auction house get-rich-quick schemes if that were the case--but it does make you wonder if this means FOMO mechanics are still in place for this game.

I'm thinking that they'll put Festival cars in the used/aftermarket lots once a Series is done. Maybe not immediately after.

I... doubt that, but it seems like the most plausible thing. Making them publicly available, albeit rarely, would solve the FOMO and Auction House issue, but I could see that being seen as a potential liability OR outside the scope of the existing Aftermarket spot rotations.
