Oh, The Eliminator is 🤬 trash. Maybe I've had bad luck twice in a row now, but the first one I did I couldn't claim the #2069 Bronco no matter how many times I pressed the button and the player chasing after me lightly taps me and gets it immediately.

Second one, I'm in a 131 Abarth being challenged by a Honda City (lol)...and I get stuck, or rather clipped into a beam or whatever the hell it was. Yeah, I Alt+F4'd and am about to go to the supermarket now.

But hey, the good news is that it's no longer mandatory for trophies/achievements.

I've noticed that the traffic cars are acting weird, I've seen them crash into each other and tonight I saw one had just stopped in the middle of the road and caused a 10 car traffic jam behind.

I saw one on its roof yesterday. I've also seen them take some questionable shortcuts through fences, trees and bushes.

I did eventually go back (because of course I was, I wanted my Exige!) and had a far better experience so I'll chalk those two up to bad luck.

Though, it still doesn't seem very responsive (or perhaps receptive) to me trying to switch cars without absolutely mashing the button.
 
Did my first Eliminator yesterday and without any explanation what its about, i just tried to find better cars and stayed on the map until i got into the last 30 players. So basically you can race them to a certain point to get a better car, is there any other possibility to take somebody else out? My initial thought was its about ramming other cars to "eliminate" them.
Got P17 in my first attempt and it was definitely more fun than 3 rounds of drifitng

You challenge other players by beeping your horn. Then you’ll be in a 1v1 race with them. Race to the finish line. If you win, you’ll get an option: go up one level from the car you have, or take their car. For example, I was in a level 3 car and was challenged by a player in a level 8 car. They screwed up and I won. Instead of going from my 3 to a 4, I claimed their car and jumped up to 8.

Okay so that’s the only option to eliminate others, got it.
Got challenged and won (against a weaker car) and could then upgrade from level 6 ->7
Lost the next battle cause we were going in opposite directions when the battle began and I was driving the wrong direction 😅
 
If anyone else is like me and likes to spend stupid amounts of time at the drag strips in this game then I have made a tune for the Arctic truck land cruiser that definitely surprises some people.

Share code is there if anyone is interested best I've ran is a 7.641 in the quarter mile.

Edit : I have now ran a 7.541 🤣

Whatever the cheaters do, they cause the races to finish earlier than normal, and they take the 1st place with 0 points.

Hope I get cheaters next time I try then. :lol: As 9 laps of drifting is not for me. I got dropped in with only two rounds left, but that didn't clear the event. My favourite thing from the playlist every week is the challenges focused on one car, I make it even more challenging by getting speed zones and speed traps mixed up every time. Still, getting 3 * at a festival SZ in that BMW, in the snow was pretty satisfying in the end.

(I had to quit the game for winter to trigger.)

I just did the drift championship. In the last two rounds, just after the race started, a 30 second timer appeared until the race would end. Both times two people with 0 points won while the rest got disqualified. Cheaters?

This happened to me as well. It's either a bug or cheaters/hackers.

Despite the supposed "anti-cheat" or cheat detection methods or whatever they have in place, they are still rampant. I saw someone yesterday in the FD2 Civic and the leaderboards for some of the danger signs still have impossible scores. I have reported all of them, but let's see what happens.

Well yesterday I didn't even get any cars. I just stayed near the arena edge and waited until I got into the 28th place.

Imagine a re-release of all the games, including PC ports of the ones that have never been available on PC, like Halo Master Chief Collection. That would be awesome, but I doubt it will happen.

Most likely will not happen due to licensing.

I do hope if they do an anniversary, they make this one good. I liked the story, the midnight battles returning, and the viper, but they hyped it up, just to give us 3 cars that should've been in the game from the start. The eagle speedster was a surprise return though, and I was happy to see it again after 4.

That's crazy fast for an Arctic Truck !! I'm guessing the handling stats suffered as a result :lol:

Here's my Arctic Truck tune. It's particularly good for getting difficult boards ;)

Yes the handling had suffered for sure. but it sure is fast lol.

Think I'll take yours next time I'm needing a XP board I can't get 🤣
